As me and The Doctor walked along the path back to my home I couldn't help but notice how human he was, despite him claiming he was an alien. "You don't look like an alien." I say while looking at him, staring at the ridiculous fez on his head. "Well I'm not technically an alien, I'm a Time Lord, and plus you're the alien to me!" He says as he catches me staring at his fez, I quickly look back to the floor where I was originally looking. "A Time Lord?" I ask, "I've never heard of a Time Lord before, you look human to me."
"Well, we came first so technically you look Time Lord" he smugly said while glancing at me. "Me? Look Time Lord?" I laughed "what even are they?" I look up at him only to see a saddened look in his eyes, I suddenly felt bad for asking. "Well it's,...its in the name, we are...were, I'm..." he fumbled over his words, slowing his walking pace. Only a short moment passed before he perked up and asked; "Anyway, what about you?" Well that was one hell of a mood swing. Should I ask about the fez? I really want to ask him but what if it's some deadly machine that's recording everything and is waiting for the right moment to strike?! Or...it could just be a fez, maybe he wants to be a funny looking alien, Time Lord or whatever he is."Well?" He asks. "Oh, sorry, I'm uhm, human.." I respond nervously realising I didn't answer him cause I was too busy thinking about that damn fez. The Doctor chuckles "I gathered that much, I mean what do you do? What does human Jessie do?". I blushed upon realising how stupid I must've sounded. "Oh! I don't actually do much, I have personal issues so I can't find a job and with said issues I don't have any friends either so human Jessie just plays video games and listens to music" I was looking down and nervously scratching my neck whilst talking. "Personal issues?" He inquired. "Yeah, I had a rough past, troubled childhood, I don't even remember most of it, I don't really do well in certain situations either and I'm quite an anxious person too. Honestly I feel as though the weight of the world is on my shoulders-" I paused "-I'm sorry, I don't really know why I'm telling you this." I realised that I was basically telling my life story to a stranger. "Well if it helps I can understand what you're feeling, I lost everybody I loved in a war." He placed a hand on my shoulder while talking. I apologised to him for what he had been through and how awful it must've been for him. We carried on chatting and I was surprised by just how normal this 'Doctor' was. He was just a regular guy with his own dark past, I feel like we were alike in some ways. Anyway, more on that later!
"Well, here we are" I stop my walking before turning to see him fiddling with his device again. "Everything alright?" "Yeah, yeah, fine, just checking the area" he says not really reassuring me as to if he was alright or not. He used his little device to scan the area then flicked it to raise these 4 little clips on the tip of the device. "Oh no that's bad" he muttered to himself, "what's bad?" I ask worried. "No no no that is very not good" he continues muttering to himself. "We need to find out what this is and fast" he says making me grow more concerned about the current situation. 'Okay okay, calm down Jess, this is gonna be okay' I think to myself trying to calm my own nerves. "This is your house?" The Doctor asks, bringing me back to reality and out of my own mind. "Yes it is!" I pull out my keys, unlock the door and walk in followed by The Doctor a moment later.
We both move straight in to the kitchen, "that the radio there" I say, pointing to the perpetrator. "Brilliant!" The Doctor grinned. He scanned the radio with his device and spent a few minutes just standing there staring at both the radio and his device. "Well this is interesting." "What is it?" I ask worried about the answer. "This is a completely normal radio." He states.
"How is that interesting?"
"Because you have a normal radio but heard a broadcast from a crashed ship, unless it was in a frequency that only you can hear."
Okay, that wasn't comforting to hear. What is going on? Why could only I hear it? If The Doctor heard it and I did, does that mean whatever broadcasted it wanted us both to be together for something, maybe I should ask him. "Doctor?" He turns around, "what if the broadcaster wanted only us to hear it, maybe they wanted us to be together for some reason, do you think that's possible?" He stands up, looks at me and says "Jessie, that is absolutely possible, I'm not sure if it's the case but it is very possible."
This is getting weirder by the second. We both jumped out of our skin at the sound of the radio coming on, the weirdest part was that it wasn't even plugged in, The Doctor unplugged it to scan it. "Doctor...what's going on?" I ask timidly. "No idea, I think somethings trying to communicate with us. Do you hear that? It sounds like a voice." He pulls out his device and scans it, "what're you doing?" I ask, "boosting the signal so we can hear what they are saying." His device buzzes and the voice becomes clearer, it was him, that voice, the voice from this morning, the dull mans voice. "It's him! From this morning!" I exclaim. The Doctor puts his ear up to the speakers to hear the details. I grew worried as his face became serious, he looked at me then back to the radio, "wait here." He stands up, buzzes his device at the radio to shut it off then starts to walk out the room. "Wait Doctor, what's wrong?" I ask worried. "Just, just wait here, I'll be back soon." "You promise?" He looks at me and sees how sad I looked. "I promise you." He says before hugging me and leaving, closing the front door behind him.
I hope he comes back, he seems so nice. Something about him drew me to him, like I wanted to be around him and to get to know him, sounds weird since he's an alien and all but something about him felt good. I felt somewhat happy when thinking about him.
"Ow!" I wince in pain, "it's happening again." I fell back onto the kitchen table. "Why now?" I hold my stomach with both arms. "I'm sure about it now, every time I feel happy this excruciating pain happens." The pain shortly passed. I'm so tired of it, nothing is physically wrong with me, doctors and nurses have no idea what it is. Esther thinks it's all in my head, it might be considering whenever I feel happy the pain in my stomach is horrific. On the plus side, I don't feel happy often so the pain doesn't come often. I sigh deeply, "please come back soon Doctor."
