Weeks have passed. Luna keeps asking, "When we are going back to see daddy?" I keep telling her one day, one day we will go see daddy. We hike about 5 miles every day. I carry Luna most of the time but when I felt it was safe, I would let her walk on her won. She would climb rocks and old logs. She has always enjoyed the outdoors. So have I. The weather in Utah is nice, especially in the summer. Holding Lunas hand as we walk along the trees in the woods, she looked up at me, "Kit, I am hungry." I smiled, "All right. We've walked far enough to find a place to stay for the night." She giggled and ran over to a fallen tree, climbing up it then sat down. I sat next to her setting my back pack by my feet. I opened my bag and looked in. I ran a hand though my hair. Only a few cans of soup left. I should have packed more. I thought to myself. I sighed and said, "Luna? Do want to go get some fire wood?" She smiled getting down and running into the woods.

Night soon came. Luna ate all of her soup. The fire was warm and crackling in the night. Luna was on my lap sleeping. I soon closed my eyes falling asleep.

The smell of smoke filled my nose. I slowly opened my eyes. Fire was all around me on the trees and the dry grass. The Flames where huge! Luna was clinging to me crying. I picked her up looking around panicking. Luna wrapped her legs around me scared. I rubbed her back, trying to comfort her. The fire was spreading fast. "Screw it!" I said and ran though the flames using my arms to shield Luna. I ran fast looking forward running faster. I saw an open field ahead of me. I looked up smiling and saw a tree on fire falling. I hurried as fast as I could to escape the falling tree but I was not fast enough. I tossed Luna as far as I could into the field. The tree fell on top of me. Luna sat up screaming, "Kit! Kit!" I moved out from under the tree and ran over to her hugging her tight saying, "Are you okay?" She nodded shaking in my arms. I looked over her body checking for burns. She had nothing. I then looked over me. Nothing was there. How is this possible I have no burns and I was mainly in the fire?
