Chapter Twenty Four

"Hey," Gigi smiled sitting next to me.

I lifted my head off of Tomina's shoulder, "Hey."

"Z told me about the water fight." she giggled. "I'm sad I missed out on the fun."

"I didn't know you were coming," Tomina said. "If I did I would have waited."

"Z told me to meet you guys after school I didn't know you left early if I did I would have been here an hour ago." she smiled. "I've been stuck at home it's nice to be out with friends."

"Baby, come here." Zayn shouted from the playground.

Gigi waved goodbye before jogging over to him. I watched as they both got on the swings. Great, now they were holding hands.

"You're so bitter." Tomina laughed causing me to look away from them. "Listen not to be petty or anything but invite V."

"You're probably the most pettiest person I know." I mumbled. I mean I don't want to invite V for some jealousy thing it's not right. "That's mean, he's too pure and nice for me to do that."

She rolled her eyes, "He'd totally be up for it."

"And how do you know that?"

"He'd do anything to be around you, kid." she sighed. "He really likes you to the point where he doesn't mind being used...it's sad."

"Shut up. I mean I like him too he's nice and sweet. It'll make me feel bad if he comes and I'm using him as some type of prop." I said looking down at my lap.

"Well I texted him and he's coming." she grinned looking up from her phone. "I told him to meet us here."

"Tomina no!" I shouted trying to grab her phone.

She laughed, "He lives like 2 minutes away, he'll be here soon."

"Why are you turning me into some demon?" I asked making her laugh more. "I'm a nice person ok and I don't need-"

"He's here." she whispered pointing at the parking lot where V was getting out his car.

"Fuck."

"Calm down I invited him as a friend." she whispered over to me as we watched him walk to us. "Don't get all awkward or anything."

"Hey," V smiled standing in front of us. "Did you need me for something?"

Tomina cocked her head to the side, "Actually, I thought it would be a good idea for you and Violet to hang out, you know finish what happened in class." she grinned.

"What happened in class?" he asked genuilnely confused.

She laughed, "The kiss."

"We weren't going to kiss." I rolled my eyes. "V, sit down."

He nodded sitting next to me, "So you need me to make Zayn jealous?" he asked pointing over to where they were.

"Jesus, no." I answered turning to give Tomina a look. "Listen I don't want you to think I'm only hanging out with you because of Zayn, ok. I really like you and-"

V chuckled, "I was joking." he smiled. "I like you too."

"Oh god." Tomina mumbled. "Listen, I love you both I really do but like can y'all like go on a date, kiss, do something already."

"We like each other, Tomina. Things like this take time." he said making me smile. "As much as I'd like to do all that she still has things to process."

"Oh you mean Zayn." she mumbled. "I get it. V, you're a nice kid."

"Stop calling me kid I'm older than you." he chuckled. "Vi, wanna go for a walk?"

"Sure."

I walked along side V not knowing where we were walking to but the park had a trail that we were currently on. It was silent but a nice kind of silent I don't think either of us minded. I occasionally took small glances at V and got caught most of the time but I couldn't help how cute he looked in striped tshirt.

"Stop staring it isn't polite." V chuckled looking down at me.

I shook my head, "Shut up." I mumbled placing my hands on my cheeks which felt like they were on fire. "You look nice today."

"Thank you." he smiled. "You look nice today too, it's not everyday I see you in the uniform."

I laughed, "Well thanks to Tomina I wore it." I said pushing my loose hair behind my ear. "So how was your day?"

"Great now that I'm with you." he answered making me roll my eyes. "No I'm serious. How about you?"

I shrugged, "It's more eventful than usual but I do prefer being in bed watching a movie."

"Are you suggesting that you want to go back to my place?" he smirked making me choke. "I'm kidding, Vi."

"Why do you like me?" I asked surprising myself.

"What?"

"L-like why do you like me when you know I still have feelings for Zayn?" I asked again looking down. "Why do you try?"

"The same reason why you let me." he answered. "I know you have feelings for him but I know that you're also trying to get over him."

"It's really hard." I mumbled finally looking up at him.

"Trust me it's hard for me too it's frustrating cause I can be everything he is to you but I know it'll take time and I'm willing to wait." he smiled casually wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"It makes me feel bad, I feel bad that I still love him when I'm around you." I admitted causing him to chuckle.

He shrugged, "That means you really do like me I mean if I can't be something romantic to you I'm still your friend at the end of the day."

"I hate you. You're so nice." I sighed laying my head on his shoulder. "I'll eventually get over him, I'm almost there just wait a little longer."

We didn't speak after that but just walked together. Once we reached the end of the trail we walked back in silence. Talking with V today made me realize that maybe I should just stop hanging on to Zayn, we're friends now and his girlfriend is my friend too. I mean it'll take some time for me but I'm gonna actually start to try.

"There you two are, we thought you ditched us!" Zayn shouted as we both sat down on the table.

Gigi smiled, "You both are so cute together." she said resting her head on Zayn's shoulder. "I'm so glad we all are here I'm going back to the states soon and I'm happy I could spend some time with friends."

"Before you leave we should all do something fun." I suggested. "Like go back to the arcade!"

"Yeah that sounds like fun."

"Shit, I forgot I have to stop by the store to get groceries for my mom." V announced getting up. "Alright I'll see you guys later."

I quickly got up too, "Can I join?" I asked.

"Of course." V smiled.

I was happy to be out of there to be honest and happier that I got to be with V. It's been a while since I've been happy, I just hope this time it lasts longer.

Sorry this is so short and horrible also sorry I haven't been as active. I've been in California the past 3 weeks and in 2 days I'll be back home so everything will be easier like writing and updating. Anyways, thanks for reading!
