Chapter Twenty Five

"So what else do we need?" I asked wheeling the cart beside V who was looking around.

"Well, we have milk, eggs, rice and ice cream." he answered reading the list off his phone. "All we need left are bananas and watermelon."

We took our time walking over to the fruit section which, like the rest of the store, was very empty. Besides the crappy music softly playing in the background and the squeaking from the broken wheel on our cart the store was dead silent. I waited patiently as V ran around getting what was left before he dropped the watermelon and bananas into the cart. We decided to go through the self check out, V bagged as I scanned, we had a little too much fun doing it also.

"So is this the end of our journey?" I asked helping him put the groceries in his trunk.

V smiled, "I'm gonna drop this off really quickly then we can do something." he said closing the trunk.

"It better be fun." I mumbled jokingly as I got into the car.

"Of course it will be, silly." he chuckled.

We drove back to his house, I waited in the car as he dropped off the groceries. I didn't wait long until V came running out with a huge grin on his face.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"Just trust me okay."

With that I trusted him and kept quiet the whole ride trying to figure out where he was taking me. I'm not fond of surprises but V is harmless it's not like he's going to take me somewhere I wouldn't be comfortable. It wasn't until he parked that I noticed where we were.

"So back to the view point." I said getting out of the car.

V smiled, "I told you that I was gonna bring you here when the sun is setting." he chuckled holding his hand out which I gladly took.

We stood there admiring the view. I've never seen something so beautiful. From the view you could see everything. The sky was pink with hints of blue.

"Here with a beautiful girl looking at a beautiful view." he mumbled making me roll my eyes.

"You're so corny." I laughed taking out my phone to take a pic.

"Don't lie you love it."

"So if I remember correctly you said last time that when you take me to see the sunset this would be our first date, right?" I asked turning to look up at him.

He grinned, "A date? Wow Violet didn't know you liked me that much." he teased making me nudge him slightly. "Yes, this is our official first date. How am I doing so far?"

"Perfect." I answered wrapping my arm around his waist. "Thank you for this V."

"No problem, Vi. I mean I am your boyfriend or whatever." he chuckled.

"It's getting dark now should we go back?" I asked noticing how fast it took for the sun to set.

V looked down at me, "You don't want to stare up at the stars? Isn't that what people do in movies?"

I nodded, "You're so corny it's unbelievable but yes that would be very romantic."

"Now to be even more corny, come here." he mumbled pulling me into him. "It's so you won't get cold."

"You know usually the guy gives his jacket to the girl."

"Well I like this better." he said wrapping both arms around me.

I smiled, "I do too."

After staring up at the star for a good 15 minutes we both got bored and decided to call it a night. He dropped me off at the house where Henry was waiting patiently for me to tell him all about what happened.

"So why don't you just date him?" Henry asked stuffing a spoonful of macaroni and cheese into his mouth.

I shrugged, "We're just not ready for that."

"You mean you're not ready for that." Henry corrected.

"How do you know when you're ready to start dating again?" I asked plopping down on the seat beside him. "I'm still not over Zayn."

He sighed, "You just need to let him go. If you love someone you should want them to be happy and he is with Gigi. You just have to realize that some things aren't meant to be but that shouldn't mean you have to be miserable." he answered. "I think you're ready, you just need to let go and let yourself be happy whether or not that involves V."

"I hate you, you're always good with advice and shit." I sighed. "I think I'm ready."

"To date?"

"No to let go."
