six: "deeply in love with you"

this is kind of a short-fic, i don't know how to qualify it but yeah

Ashton jumped the whole way to Hogsmeade while Luke was a nervous mess. Luke saw him head to the candy shop and took the opportunity to run to the back of Hog's Head where they were supposed to meet, right next to the backdoor. Ashton said something about going to pick-up some candy so he could eat with the boy, Luke just smiled thinking it was thoughtful.

He needed an excuse to escape from Michael in case the metamorphagus asked something but when Luke told him he probably wouldn't be with him in Hogsmeade but he just nodded, saying it was fine. Luke felt bad for not telling his best friend but he didn't want to do it, not while he knows if Ashton feels something.

Luke sat down in a gigant rock with his back against the part Ashton was coming from. The blue-eyed boy was glad his beanie doesn't let Ashton see the back of his hair, the other boy wouldn't run away like that. He tapped his foot in the snow and fixed his beanie since his ears were getting cold. He rubbed his hands and sighed, cursing at himself for forgetting the gloves.

"Hey." the familiar voice said, making him hold a breath "It's okay, don't be shy."

"I just-" he stopped himself, still not turning around and looking at the forest in front of him.

"Trust me, please." Ashton said, coming closer.

"O-Okay." He said and turned around, shutting his eyes to avoid seeing Ashton's reaction.

With the silence he started blushing and wanted to do nothing but scream. He opened his eyes and saw Ashton staring at him, they were at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from each other and doing nothing but staring. Ashton's eyes showed mixed emotions that Luke couldn't find out. He just stared at him and coughed awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

"Surprise?"

"B-But - how?" Ashton asked, his voice trembling as he put the candy inside his pocket.

"I just-" Luke started, getting closer to him and held his hands, his confidence growing again "I can't actually avoid it. It's been like this since we first met in the station and you looked too beaufitul. I didn't like what I was feeling- what I've been feeling since that day. My only choice was to pretend I hated you but I smelled your scent in potions the other day and I just couldn't- I couldn't avoid the though of kissing you." he caressed Ashton's face with his left hand "Kissing you, holding you and calling you mine I just can't avoid it. It's all I want and it's just fine if you don't feel the same because I can't force you, I treated you like shit all those years but I want to make it up."

Ashton leaned in to Luke's touch and blushed.

"I'm deeply in love with you." Luke said, sighing.

Ashton started leaning in and kissed him. Luke's left hand went to Ashton's chin and the other one to his waist. Ashton wrapped his arms around Luke's neck and deepened the kiss. It was sweet with no tongue involved, just their lips touching each other. When they pulled away Ashton's glasses were foggy because he was crying. Ashton just chuckled and hugged Luke.

"Why are you crying, babe? I don't want to see you cry." Luke said, kissing his cheek.

"I'm in love w-with you too." Ashton said nervously "Do you mean it? Everything you said?"

"Of course I do. It has been like this for years even if I know Michael put amortentia in the brownie."

Ashton giggled "You knew about that too?"

Luke chuckled "It's not like he can hide stuff from me, I found a list in his bag."

"Oh, okay."

And after that was just silence.

It was one of those that were comfortable but uncomfortable at the same time. Luke wanted to ask stuff and Ashton wanted to kiss him again but at the same time he wanted to take things slow. They know a lot of stuff about each other but it would be better if they started as friends instead of going straight to a relationship.

"How can you love me even if I was mean to you?" Luke asked and Ashton lifted his head up.

"I guess I couldn't avoid. I tried to fall for other people but I guess you can't chose who you fall for." Ashton said "You acted so nice to everyone that my mind avoided how you acted towards me."

"I understand." Luke smiled, kissing Ashton's cheek softly "I'm sorry for whatever I put you through, you didn't deserve it."

"It's okay." Ashton said and pecked his lips, blushing "L-Look um, we should take things slow."

"I think that too. We should try being friends before being boyfriends." Luke said with a smile and Ashton nodded. He still wanted to kiss him though "One for the road?"

Ashton giggled, kissing him again. The two got out of the back after a bit and started walking around Hogsmeade, marking the day on their minds as the time they first hung out together. They received surprised looks from other students since they were walking together and being touchy.
