five: the secret letters

i'm feeling major anxiety rn and my escape is to write so i'm just gonna post this so the people who read can forget about what happened for a bit and then it will be followed by a marathon of the Second season of Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi bc that's how i roll

two days later...

"What do you mean you have been receiving letters?" Calum asked while Ashton stuffed his mouth with pancakes. The Ravenclaw swallows the food and clears his throat.

"I received one on the first day and two yesterday, all from the same person since it had the same signature. They were so sweet!" he says, showing Calum the letters by ETS.

The first one was just about how he liked watching Ashton practice spells sometimes. The boy would sit in the stairs in the Great Hall or outside just practicing. The sencond one was about how he wishes he could spend more time with Ashton instead of being so shy and running away. They were in fact cute, but at the same time the dude could just go over to him and talk.

Ashton was a sociable person, he had lots of friends and didn't mind meeting new people. He was nice and cheerful, the only person he doesn't get along with his Luke. He actually gets along with Luke but Luke doesn't get along with him, which makes things difficult.

"I dunno." Calum says, trying to push the guy away "It's kinda creepy." he didn't want to admit it was cute, he was even a bit jealous "He doesn't know you at all."

"That's what makes it exciting!" Ashton says, with a smile "He doesn't know me that well and I don't know him at all. Imagine our first date somewhere, all about getting to know each other. What if-"

"What if you get your heart broken all over again?" CAlum interrupts him "I've seen you heatrbroken because of Bambi," he says, using the code they made for Luke "I don't want to see you like that again!"

"Cal, this could be my opportunity to get over him. This guy could be a new start."

"Using someone to forget other someone is not a choice Ash, and you know that."

"Please." Ashton whispered, looking at his friends eyes "Just let me have this chance."

Calum sighed and nodded. He didn't want to see Ashton get hurt all over again, it hurt him as well. Whoever this guy is he just hopes he treats Ashton right.

Luke was watching the whole scene from the other table next to the Ravenclaws. The Slytherin table was right next to the Ravenclaw one and he managed to sit a bit away from Ashton but not too much. He had a good spot where he could listen to their conversation and sometimes stare at Ashton just admiring his face.

His feelings for the hazel-eyed boy haven't changed since he first saw him. He became more confident and that's why he has been sending him letters, he just became confident all of sudden. The blue-eyed boy is going to reveal himself on that afternoon since they're spending it in Hogsmeade. It will take a lot but he's ready, he's been hiding his feeling behind hate for years and is tired of hiding it.

Luke smiled at the letter he was holding, he was going to get someone to give it to Ashton. He smiled when seeing a first year walk past him.

"Hey, Kyle?" he said, the dark-haired boy turned around with a smile.

"Yes?"

"Can you do me a favour?" Kyle nodded and approached Luke who gave him the letter "Give this to the sandy-blonde haired sitting in the Ravenclaw table. That one, see?" he pointed and the boy nodded.

"Will do!"

"Thank you, don't say it was from me." he said and watched as the boy walked to Ashton.

Kyle tapped Ashton's shoulder and the boy turned to him with a friendly smile. Kyle said he had a letter for Ashton and gave it to him, then walked away. He could hear a bit of the conversation between him and Calum but it was hard with all the noise. He sat a bit closer and started to listen better.

"...meet him behind Hog's Head. See? He wants to talk to me in person, it means he's feeling confident!" Luke smiled at the compliment.

"I don't know, that place is kind of... empty? What if something happens?"

"What do you mean? Everything will be fine Calum, trust me."

"Then why doesn't he do it in a place with crowd?"

"He says he doesn't want to be rejected in public and if he is rejected he prefers it's private. I will respect that but I won't reject him, I will explain what's going on and that I'm willing to give him a chance."

He heard a sigh, probably Calum "Are you sure?"

"Trust me." Ashton said with a cheerful smile, like usual.

Luke smiled and blushed, getting up to walk out of the cafeteria and heading to the Slytherin common room. He had to choose his best outfit, at least Ashton was giving him a chance and he wanted to look his best.

some of this locations i have to check in my Marauder's Map and jfc so difficult (it came with HP7 PC game and it's pretty cool, there is a poster behind it of DA but i love the map too much)
