"Why are you freaking out? Nautica can you calm your sister Down please?" My dad had simply come over to work on my car and my sister was freaking out over trying to find a place to have the wedding "this is why I'm divorced..... " he muttered and I had to laugh
"Well that and a crazy ex wife..." I said then Elle nudged me "what? It's true"
"She wasn't the best but she's still our mom regardless "
"Yeah I'm aware thanks. You were too young to remember anything "
"Not true Nat.... I do remember a lot I'm not that far behind you...."
"Anyway can you manage to stay out of the garage? The car needs to get done and I'd love it if you didn't drive dad nuts...."
She stuck her tongue out at me so I messed up her hair it's been six months now and the original place she had booked cancelled on her, it didn't help I'd be gone soon for my new job because the poor girl needed all the help she could get. I went back out to the garage to join my dad in working on the other side of the car to get the brakes done, this was something we always did together and I loved it.
"So. Tell me about this guy"
"Like what? There's really nothing to say dad..."
"Not what I've heard..."
"An who is your reliable source? Elle? She over exaggerates everything dad..,"
"Your sister means well Nat ... Maybe she sees something you don't?"
"Yeah like I haven't been with anyone in three years.... So what? Maybe I want to be single..."
"Was that him at the engagement party?"
I sighed I really didn't want to talk about this with my dad....
"Yeah it was. His name is Nick..., and he's way out of my league because he's an athlete...."
"That doesn't mean anything..... Have you guys talked a lot? He seems really nice "
"Kinda.... Sometimes I shoot him down "

"Maybe I don't want to?"
"Sometimes we don't go looking for love it just happens Nat..... What's meant to be will find a way "
"Well there's no attraction there so...."
"Maybe there is but you're preventing it from happening, you're too blind to it you never know maybe he really likes you "
"Dad. He doesn't even know me.... "
"Because you're not giving him a chance!"
"Okay but how can he have a good feeling about it if he has talked to me few times...."

"Knock knock" I froze and stayed behind my side of the car
"You've gotta be kidding me..." I quietly muttered to myself...
"Hi. Nick? Right?" My dad said getting up "I'd shake your hand but.... Well yeah" they both chuckled
"No worries..... I'm just dropping something off for Claudio... He asked me to give this to Ell.... It's a binder I guess with wedding ideas and venues"
I tried to stay quiet he hadn't seen me yet I wanted to keep it that way it's been six months since I've seen him, and every time he came around I put my guard up not to mention the way I look- why would I care? I heard him and my dad leave the garage so I hurried to get up and run in the house thus slamming the door into my sister.
