Valeriana glanced guiltily at the ring resting in her hand.

She didn't deserve the Wylden Cosmos. She was an outsider, but also an insider, a human and a Valemnian, caught between two worlds. Her father was from Valemnia, her mother, Earth. She didn't belong here just as much as didn't belong on Earth... but then, where did she belong?

And then there was the matter of Corvan using her to escape Alovia. A shudder passed through her as she thought of Corvan with Alovia, before a light blush crossed her face. Corvan would cut off his hair before even entertaining the idea of marrying her.

Her face flamed now. She'd already cut off his hair... which reminded her. She needed to find him and apologize for what she had done.

Speaking of Corvan...he walked into the common room and raked his hair, making it messy, and sat down. "Great. We are all here, except for Zevlin and Genevieve, of course." Charles smoothly pushed his glasses higher.

Tamara punched the air. "Whoo! It feels GREAT to be able to relax after the whole Festival. I mean, I lost my voice. "

"Lost." Brindon replied apathetically.

"I ate food!" Keelan replied enthusiastically. "And I helped children find parents too!"

"I agree. The festival was an absolute success. It brought in huge profits from around Valemnia, which shall be used to fund our mission to Larkovia to attempt to rescue the undines from the infection. "

"Wait but I thought only Celestial Knights-"

"Stupid witch. Do you know nothing? This mission, at highest, will be considered D-Class." Corvan interrupted. "Besides we shall reach the undines before it hits. And since you already know them, easy peasy."

"Easy...peasy?" Charles asked, tasting the unfamiliar words in his mouth.

"Corvan, you've been spending a lot of time with Val, are you actually accepting her now? And why the sudden engagement and all? Seriously, we need talk about everything, not just the festival. Cuz I've had it with no one actually knowing anything. Jeez, tell us already!" Tamara suddenly blurted out.

Valeriana blushed beet red and Corvan sighed. "Well-" he started.

"Ah, so that's what happened. Thank you guys soooo much. We were very curious." And with that Tamara slowly walked up the stairs following the footsteps of the rest of the Celestial Twelve, too tired to even try and make a sarcastic joke along the way.

Finally, Corvan and Valeriana were alone.

"I-I should get going..."

"Wait. I have something of utmost importance to tell you."

"Okay. Hit me."

He hit her. "Ow! I didnt mean that you can physically hit me. I meant that just tell me. Jeez."

"Alright. Have you ever studied the, um, customs the Continental Lords and Ladies go through when they have an engagement?"

"Um, no..."

"Well as you are my..."

"Your what?" She raised a defiant eyebrow.

"Future-"

"Future what?"

"Wife," he coughed. "You know. When two people form a sacred pact in front of others and-"

She flushed. "I know what a wife is, thank you very much."

WIFE?? HOLY SHIZNITS, I'M GETTING MARRIED TO CORVAN. HOW THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN?

Stupid. You just realized this? You really are dense, stupid witch.

"Well I need to... escort you on a tour of Arlandia in order to introduce you to the people as their future High Lady. Does tomorrow sound good?" He asked, a worried tone creeping into his voice.

"Of course! I've been needing to see more of this world." She paused. "And who better to escort me than my very own idiot devil?"

She smirked, and got up from the chair. "Good night!"

She left with a bounce in her step.
