Chapter 37

"If you can't dodge it, eat it." Was what Akahikari always told her. Nikko opened her mouth, and sucked in the fire. She knew it was going to get her sick later on, but it was either have a meal or get defeated. Which one? Of course she chose to eat it.

        As soon as the flames came in contact with her throat, she sensed the burning feeling as it trailed down to her stomach. Atlas Flame's eyes widened as her saw the girl eat his fire. The only people who could do that was Igneel... and Akahikari. His eyes went even wider, and he chuckled. He couldn't believe that he didn't recognize her magic.

        Her foster father was his old pal Akahikari. That's why her attacks felt so familiar. If Atlas Flame could, he would ask the girl questions, but he couldn't. The Dragon Control Magic that the Future Rogue placed on him forbidden that. The only thing that his body could do was spew out fire.

        Nikko wiped her mouth as soon as she finished eating the fire. Her body temperature was getting warm, she could feel it. She felt a pang in her head, but she shook it off.

        "Akahikari, eh?" Atlas Flame mumbled. Nikko gave a soft smile. If she didn't have the enhancement of sight, smell, and hearing she wouldn't have heard that. "You know otou-chan?" Nikko asked the dragon, slowly creating distance between them. Atlas Flame caught onto that, but said nothing. He nodded, and Nikko smiled.

        "SUN DRAGON'S SECRET SLAYER ART-" Nikko screamed, as light began to flood around her. Atlas Flame knew this move, "HOLY ROAR!" He screamed in pain as he was forced flying back. For a small girl, her power and strength was amazing. Nikko focused on her magic, trying her best to balance it evenly so she had even more power, and also so she could preserve some for later use.

        Atlas Flame let out a chuckled, as he attacked the girl once more with a bigger and stronger fire. Nikko jumped in the air, avoiding the fire but she still could feel the heat. It was bad that she had to be paired up with a flame dragon.

        Atlas Flame let out a grin, and Nikko awed at the fire embers surrounding them. "Akahikari huh?" Atlas Flame asked once more, and Nikko charged forward. "Sun Flame Dragon's Roar!" Nikko screamed, and a roar with light with flames swirling around it attacked Atlas Flame. The flame dragon smirked.

        "HEY, I FOUND YOU FIRE DRAGON!" Natsu screamed, and latched onto Atlas Flame. Nikko screamed in surprise, "Who the hell are you?" Atlas Flame asked, "I'm Natsu, and right now I'm gonna... EAT YOU!" Natsu began to suck up the flames that Atlas Flame's body was made of. Nikko's jaw dropped. Natsu had disrupted her battle for a charge up.

        "AHOOOOO NATSU!" Nikko screamed, and Natsu gave her a thumbs up. She sighed as she sat on the ground, and waited for the Fire Dragon Slayer to finish. "That's Natsu. No one would ever think of that." Happy sighed as he flew around in the sky. "You're gonna eat me?" Atlas Flame asked, "What nonsense!"

        Nikko quickly moved away as Atlas Flame began to bang his body around all the building in order to release Natsu, but Natsu wouldn't budge. Happy noticed that, and quickly took a hold of Nikko, and flew her to somewhere safe. "Arigato Happy." Nikko sighed, "Nikko-chan, you're body is burning up." Happy said in worry, and she grinned at him. "That's what I get for eating flames huh?" She said softly, wanting to cool down. She needed to find Gray so he could freeze her up or something...

        "When I say I eat, I eat! And these flames are delicious!" Natsu screamed with his mouthful of fire. Nikko and Happy sweat-dropped. "GET OFF OF ME!" Atlas Flame screamed, forcing his body to collide with the ground. The force of his flying caused him to be dragged all over the floor. "Forget it!" Natsu told the flame dragon.

        "Natsu! What the hell are you doing?!" Nikko screamed, impatient. She was about to cut off her magic, "Nikko-chan! Go help the others with their dragons! I'm getting this one!" Natsu ordered her, "Happy! Carry her up and help her find anyone who needs help!" Happy nodded with an 'Aye sir!', and flew in the sky while carrying Nikko by her shirt.

        "Happy! Drop me here!" Nikko yelled, and Happy quickly released the girl. "That was so heavy..." He cried, and Nikko glared at the blue cat. Happy squealed, and flew away. Nikko looked down, and cracked a grin. "Sting! Having trouble?" She yelled, and Sting's eyes widened. "NIKKO WHAT THE HELL?!"

        "Catch me Sting!" She laughed, and landed in the boy's arm, and Nikko laughed as she jumped down from her mate's arms. Sting gulped, looking at her up and down. She was gorgeous. "What's wrong Sting, did you loose some strength or something? You're struggling with an enemy, and that isn't like you babe." Nikko winked.

        "You came to help your lame boyfriend?" Orga questioned her, and Nikko nodded. Sting's jaw dropped, "Lame?!" He yelled, and Nikko giggled. "What's his name?" Nikko asked, "Scissor Runner." Sting told her, and she nodded with a grin. Her teeth were pointy, and if they weren't in a situation like this, Sting would've probably told her, 'You look hot' but he couldn't.

        "Secret Dragon Slayer Art... White Fire!!!" Nikko screamed, attacking the large dragon with white fire. She knew that Sting wouldn't have been struggling if Rogue was here. Natsu looked over, and saw a white glow. He grinned as he saw both Sting and Nikko together in their Drive. The light couple. Natsu saw Nikko grab Sting's arm, and the white cloak around them intensified. The two looked at each other and nodded.

        "Holy Light Dragon's Flash Blaze!" The two screamed, and attacked Scissor Runner with their unison raid. Large bursts of white and yellow light hit the dragon, making him crash into buildings.

        "Boy! What is your connection with Igneel?!" Atlas Flame yelled at Natsu. "Igneel?! You know Igneel?" Natsu yelled in surprise. "He is my friend and the King of Fire Dragons!" Atlas Flame told Natsu, who stopped eating his flames. A wide grin spread across the boy's face, "I see... Igneel is my dad!"

        The realization of both of his friends' foster children was able to break through the manipulation that Future Rogue had casted. Atlas Flame flew over Nikko and Sting. "Hey, Nikko-chan." Atlas Flame said, and Nikko looked up at the dragon in surprise. On his back was Natsu, who looked ready to pounce on Rogue. "It was a nice battle." He gave a firey grin, and Nikko nodded with a soft smile.

        "Defeat this dragon for you oto-chan and I, will you Nikko-chan?" Atlas Flame asked, and flew away. Nikko nodded, and focused on the dragon in front of her. "My girlfriend is so cool." Sting smirked, and Nikko laughed. "Are you ready Sting?"

        "More than ready babe."
