I walk right into Mom and Dad's house, calmer now, less angry.
"Are you gonna tell Carmen?" Mom asks Delaney.
"Carmen knows." She says. "So does Tyler."
"What?" I ask.
"That I'm pregnant." She says.
I nod. "Right. I'm sorry guys." I say.
"For what?" Mom asks.
"Well you get the privilege of dealing with me and Delaney." I say. "And Miranda." I add, looking at my sister-in-law. "But you're about to pop."
"Wait, are you pregnant?" Mom asks.
I nod.
"Yeah."
Delaney snorts.
"That explains a lot."
"I know." I snicker.
Ethan is sleeping peacefully on Dad's lap.
His forehead has dried blood on it.
He starts moving though, and he wakes up.
I give him a sad smile.
"How are you, baby?" I ask.
"Am I going to school tomorrow?" he sniffles.
I sigh, shaking my head.
"No." I say. "No, you're not. You're not going back there."
"Mrs. Evans is going to be angry at me, Mommy. She told me not to tell."
"Mrs. Evans can f-" I take a deep breath. "She's never going to see you again." I say.
"What are you going to do?" Mom asks.
"I'm suing the school." I say.
"Good for you!" she looks so proud of me.
<><>
So I did it. I sued the school. I thought there was going to be a whole deal about her denying it, but there was a camera in the classroom, and it cut off right at the bathroom. We all watched the footage. Ethan raised his hand, and then he got up and went to the bathroom. It showed Mrs. Evans look up, and then she walked in the direction Ethan went, and when she came back, Ethan was clearly crying, and she was dragging his by his arm back to his seat.
She's in prison now, and I'm ten billion richer.
It's been two months now. It's October 28th, a Tuesday.
Delaney is already showing, and I am too. I'm four months now. I was two when I found out. Delaney was two when she found out.
We're both the same week.
Every Friday, I go up by one week, and every Saturday, she goes up by one week.
We're both sixteen weeks. Friday and Saturday are our seventeen weeks.
She hoped for a girl so hard.
She still doesn't know.
I don't know either.
Emily has nightmares every now and again. We've done everything except for sports. I don't know what sports to put her in.
Aleena and Ethan go to another preschool, called Sunflower Learning Center.
It's wonderful. Ethan and Aleena have their group of friends, and it's the next street over from Emily's school. They get out at two now, Emily gets out at 2:30.
