The next morning, Bucky was not expecting to see what he did in the kitchen.
Food.
Real food, and it was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. Back in Siberia, he was fed once a month, but the food wasn't what you would call edible. The men in prison must have had better food then he did in that place. Bucky saw Scott and Sam at the large table already, and went to sit with them. He muttered a 'good morning', and sat in front of Scott who grinned at him. Sam on the other hand just glared at him. What's his problem?
Soon enough, Steve and Wanda showed up along with T'Challa. A few servants came by and placed plates of food in front of everyone. Steve saw the look on Bucky's face and couldn't help but laugh a little at his reaction.
"I know this is a little much, but I'm sure Barnes hasn't had a proper meal since 1945," T'Challa was being really nice and Bucky thanked him and they all ate in silence. Bucky was in heaven, and after breakfast Steve had an idea.
"So, I was thinking we could all go out today. Maybe see the sites?" Everyone nodded in agreement, everyone but T'Challa.
"I don't know Captain, Barnes is still a wanted man," Bucky frowned and couldn't help but agree with him. He doesn't want to risk another attack, especially since it's only been a day he's been awake.
"He's right, you guys go on without me. I'll be fine,"
T'Challa nodded and informed a few servants to have someone around to look after Bucky while their out. Sam didn't like the idea of having Bucky by himself, not because he cared, but he just didn't know what he would do.
Wanda gave him a look, and he shrugged his shoulders like what he's thinking isn't out of the ordinary.
"He's been through a lot. Give him a chance," Wanda told him but she already knew Sam was too stubborn to listen to her. He rolled his eyes and went to get dressed.
When everyone left, Bucky sighed and sat on the couch. One of T'Challa's servants asked him if he needed anything, and he shook his head no and just turned the TV on. He flipped through the channels, and settled on a documentary on the military. A lot has changed over the years, and he sometimes wishes he could go back to the good old days. And other times, he thinks what would have happened if he didn't fall off that train. Well the answer is, he would be dead, and Steve would be without a best friend. Maybe this was his fate, a second chance.
But Sam is getting in the way of that, and maybe if he could just talk to him he'll change his mind. How do you apologize to the guy you almost killed three times? He thought.

Steve and the others were mindlessly walking around, and they reached a market place. Wanda was the most excited about the jewelry stand she spotted, and went off with Clint who was going to pick something nice out for his wife. He hasn't seen her in a long time, and he missed his family. Scott missed his daughter, but he knew she was in good hands with Paxton. Even Luis and his friends, but he knew they wouldn't know how to care for a child. He chuckled at the thought.
Sam was picking out some fruits, and Steve spotted a few plums and grabbed a few for Bucky. He noticed Sam rolling his eyes, but he ignored him. He had to do something about those two, Bucky was trying but Sam could care less.
"Are you going to get anything else for your boy? Friendship bracelet maybe," Sam asked with a smirk and Steve looked at him confused.
"He's not my boy, and what's your problem? He's been nothing but nice to you!" Steve exclaimed and Sam sighed.
"When someone tries to kill you three times, you don't exactly throw them a party," Sam walked off until Steve shouted at him.
"If the same thing happened to you, and Riley was in Bucky's position would you isolate him?" Steve shouted and Sam froze in his place, and looked at Steve.
"Don't you dare! You and I both know why you're treating Bucky like he's some damsel in distress," Sam shot back and Steve furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
Sam chuckled, "Think about it"
With that, he left. Sam knew exactly what he was talking about, Steve has a crush on Bucky and only he and Wanda knew about it. She knew because he thought about it, and she read his mind and agreed with hm. Clint and Scott are too clueless. He knew when Steve kissed Sharon it was all an act, and that Bucky was not comfortable seeing that.
When T'Challa suggested they all go back, he paid for everything they picked out. Steve didn't like the feeling of someone paying for his own stuff, but none of them had money. He sometimes wonders what Tony's up to, and how he felt after reading the letter he sent. Steve meant everything he said, when he needed them they'll be there.
Steve saw Bucky passed out on the couch, and smiled when seeing how peaceful he looked. Everyone left to their rooms, and Steve sat on the lounge chair next to the couch and read the book he got until his friend woke up. After an hour, he woke up and saw Steve reading on the chair. He smiled and sat up, stretching he noticed the bag of plums in Steve's lap.
"Those for me?" he asked and Steve jumped in his seat noticing Bucky staring right at him. He blushed a little and nodded. He handed them to Bucky, who couldn't help but grin.
Plums helped with memory loss, and he didn't exactly get the chance to have any when he saw Steve in his apartment in Bucharest.
"Thanks Steve," he ate a few and Sam came downstairs and saw those two basically making heart eyes at each other.
Sam decided to have a bit of fun, but made sure not to piss of Steve in the process.
"Oh hey guys," he smiled and saw Bucky smile back at him. He's too innocent to know what's going on, and Sam knew he was going to enjoy this.
"Sam, what's up?" Steve looked at him confused, just an hour ago he couldn't stand being in the same room as Bucky. But here he is, sitting right next to him.
"I need advice...yeah advice! There's a really fine servant who's been checking me out, and I thought since, well this is more towards sleeping beauty over here, but I thought since I remember you telling me he was a lady's man back in the forties he'd help me out," Sam said and Bucky looked taken aback that Sam would want advice from him out of all people.
"I don't really remember much about that side of myself, but try talking to her. See if you guys have anything in common and go from there. Women are hard to impress, especially nowadays" Bucky said and Steve was shocked at his answer.
"Well that's my problem, it's a dude,"
Steve almost spit out the water he was drinking, and Bucky looked at Sam wide eyed.
"What? Cant two dudes like each other?"
"Well yeah! I mean...it's not exactly frown upon so I'd go for it," Bucky didn't know why he was blushing, and he looked at Steve who was also red in the face.
"Let's just say, hypothetically he was asleep for a while. Hypothetically. Now he's back, and I want to tell him how I feel. How would I do that?" Sam was smirking at how they were blushing, as if they knew what he was trying to imply.
"Tell him you've missed him while he was gone, and that you want nothing but to make him happy. And that now, you realize just how much he means to you," Steve was looking right at Bucky when he said this and Bucky was blushing.
Sam smirked, his work here was done.
"Thanks guys, see ya," he got up from his spot and went upstairs until he saw Wanda in the hallway.
"Since when do you like guys?"
"Since about, 5 minutes ago," Sam said and Wanda rolled her eyes.
She knew about how much Steve cares for Bucky, but what Sam did was out of line. Those two were obviously not ready to confess their feelings for each other, but Sam had to butt in and ruin everything.
