ROAD TRIP

Chapter 10

"They're here" Wanda said to Steve the next morning. It's been two weeks, and ever since he left those two in the middle of nowhere he was anticipating their arrival. Especially Bucky's. It was no mystery to his team that their Captain had eyes on a certain ex-assassin and he was too stubborn to admit it. Plus, Clint's been giving him shit about it ever since.

"I know Cap is the most excited, I mean not just by the look in his eye, but by the bulge in his pants," Clint said and Steve blushed and looked down. There was nothing, and that made Clint laugh even harder.

"Made ya look," he said walking off to the couch where Scott was.

"I missed Bucky, I don't know anything about him but I missed him," Scott said and Wanda giggled at his comment.

"Ok, so what time does the plane land?" Steve asked Wanda. "At 9:30" she replied. It was 8 now, and T'Challa had a business meeting so he would be here after they arrive.

"Steve you're pacing, just sit down. They'll be here soon, so how are you going to propose?" Clint asked and he gasped.

"Clint! I'm not proposing, I just need to figure out what to say to Bucky,"

"How about...hi"

Scott was such an idiot, but they loved him and he was an avenger now. He just needed to realize what's going on around him.

"Can I punch him?" Clint asked and Scott yelped. Steve shook his head, "No, I just-

"HUNNY I'M HOME!" Steve heard Sam from down the hall along with laughter that he recognized as Bucky's. He got up from his seat, along with the rest of the avengers, and welcomed Sam and Bucky with hugs and a million questions.

"STEVE!" Bucky yelled attacking Steve in a hug. Everyone gave each other knowing looks and smiled at the two as they embraced.

Steve was a bit taken aback, but hugged his best friend/crush anyway. He didn't want to let go, and neither did Bucky. Sam ruined it and coughed causing them to break apart red in the face.

"I have a few stories," Sam announced and everyone entered the living room excited to hear everything. Wanda already knew what happened, but she joined anyway.

During Sam's very loud explanation on their journey home, Bucky and Steve gave each other occasional glances. When Sam mentioned Marissa flirting with Bucky, Steve's smile dropped and he continued listening to Sam, and he blushed a bit when he pulled out photos that Marissa took of Bucky on stage (Bucky had no clue there would be photo evidence) and Steve glanced at a blushing Bucky who knew he wouldn't hear the end of this from Clint.

"Damn Barnes, didn't know you could model," Scott said looking at the photos Sam passed around. "Neither did I, but Sam was a great coach, he taught me this face," Bucky said pouting and Steve thought he could die then and there seeing his soft pink lips in a pout. Christ. Everyone laughed and Bucky showed him the crown he won, and he put it on. Again, Steve was not ok with how adorable his friend looked.

Later, T'Challa came home and welcomed Bucky and Sam by having a huge feast. As promised, Bucky got his Dr. Pepper and Wanda tried it as well and made a face at how strong the sugar is. She stuck with her lemonade. T'Challa informed them that after Bucky and Sam were found in Kansas City, they had to be extra careful if they were to ever go on a mission that's across the globe and everyone agreed to stay alert. After dinner, Sam and Bucky took well deserved showers and after Bucky left the bathroom he saw Steve sitting on the edge of his bed.

"Oh hey, didn't here you come in. I'm usually alert," Bucky said in a low chuckle and Steve smiled at him.

Bucky's heart was pounding just by having Steve in his room. The tension was there, and he was the first to speak.

"I'm sorry I left again," he muttered and Steve shot his head up and looked at Bucky confused. "Don't be Buck, if it were me in your situation I would leave too. I'm just glad you're ok," he replied and Bucky gave him a warm smile and hugged him.

"I also wanted to tell you something...its kind of embarrassing actually," Bucky said rubbing the back of his neck with his metal hand.

"Yeah, what?"

"I've been thinking about you a lot while I was gone, and I didn't know it at first but Sam helped me figure it out. I'm...ok how do I say this. I'm gay Steve, and I like you. As more then just friends," Bucky said and let go of the breath he didn't know he was holding.

Steve started at him in disbelief and shook his head, "What?"

"Look Steve, I understand if you don't-

"No, I'm just in shock is all. I like you too Buck, I always have," Steve confessed and looked at Bucky with loving eyes and a smile he knew would be the death of him.

"I saw how jealous you were when Sam mentioned Marissa and Jordan, don't worry about them I told them I was thinking of asking you out when I got home," Bucky said and Steve laughed and nudged him.

"Pft me jealous? Ok," he said and Bucky chuckled at his childishness.

"I also want that photo of you in those black shorts framed if possible," Steve said and Bucky blushed a deep shade of red and he slapped Steve's arm. "Very funny, I'm burning those," he replied and Steve took his hand in his.

"I missed you," he said looking Bucky in his blue eyes. He melted in the touch and Steve leaned in a pressed a kiss to Bucky's pink soft lips and he gladly returned the kiss and placed his hand on Steve's neck deepening the kiss.

"Hey guys I- aww," Sam said barging into Bucky's room.

"Ugh Sam, don't you knock?" Bucky asked pulling away from Steve.

"Nope, deal with it. I'm happy to see you old guys finally together. And I wanted to thank Steve for leaving my ass stranded with you for two weeks. It wasn't that bad, I got a new friend out of it. And I'm hoping when you guys get married I'll be Bucky's best man," Sam said with a smirk on his face.

"Of course, just don't tell Scott" Bucky said and Sam laughed and left the room.

"Finally," Bucky said pulling Steve in for another kiss.

"I could get used to this," Steve whispered against Bucky's lips.

"Me too, just don't leave me with that idiot again," Bucky said and Steve laughed.

"Deal,"
