ROAD TRIP

Chapter 4

The next morning, Steve had woken everyone up at around 8am and told them to meet him downstairs. Sadly, none of them had their weapons. Wanda on the other hand, was able to track the way Bucky went but she couldn't exactly see where he was. So, they had to wing it. Sam was not the most chipper person in the morning, so he was quiet the whole ride. Scott on the other hand runs on energy 24/7, so he was fine.

"Captain, don't worry we'll find him," Steve wasn't worried at all, he knew Bucky was ok. Wanda knew, so he was fine. But he saw that Sam was being grouchy, and hoped what he was planning would work out.

Once they reached where Wanda said he was, Sam made the mistake of being the first one to leave the jet.

"Finally, let's find sleeping beauty and get the hell out of here," Sam said and when he turned around he saw the jet was leaving. He ran towards it, waving his arms around.

"HEY! WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE WHAT THE HELL STEVE!!" he yelled and Sam then saw the jet fly off.

Did they leave him here on purpose? Were they going to where Bucky really was and left him here to die? Why would they do this?

Sam looked around and saw he was in some abandoned looking town. He sighed and walked a few blocks on the road. He had no clue where he was, and why Steve would drop him off here. There was a figure walking in front of him with a bag, and he called out to him.

"Hey! Sir! Do you know where we are?" he yelled and the figure turned around and Sam was shocked to see who it was.

It was Bucky, and he looked awful.

"Sam? What are you doing here?" he asked and Sam was still in shock. He walked towards him and looked him in his blue eyes.

"What are you doing here? The team and I were out looking for you, and next thing I knew they left and I thought they left me here because they blamed me for you leaving and-

"Wait, they just left you here? Why would they-oh my god," Bucky then realized what's going on.

"Steve left you here, because he knew where I was. So this is his way of making us try to get along, by leaving us in a deserted town and try to find our way back home," Sam's eyes widened and he dropped to the ground.

"WHY! WHYYYYYYY JESUS, LORD ALMIGHTY GOD!" Sam was having a meltdown, and Bucky just stared at him not knowing what to do. He left so he didn't have to see Sam, and here he was acting like a whining child.

"Sam c'mon, I saw a motel up the street," he said and Sam sighed and followed him.

Once they get back, Steve's going to get it.

They've been walking for a day, and Bucky had no idea where they were. This place had no signs, and he was determined to at least find a motel. Sam on the other hand was pissed off, he didn't like the idea of being around Bucky more then he wants to. But, if they were to find their way back home, he needed to just go with it.

"Got any food in that bag?" Sam broke the silence and Bucky turned around and saw the sad look on Sam's face.

He nodded and pulled out a snickers bar, and Sam snatched it from his hand. He wasn't expecting a thank you, so he turned back around and started walking again. Bucky was basically the king of runaways, so he knew what to do in these situations. But Sam, he was already tired. He was in the military, but he had his wings so he never walked this much.

Bucky was trying to stay positive about this, and maybe this could work out.

He hopes his instincts are right this time.
