Rody was running through the snow, on his way to the ship yard.  . He wanted to see if there was a lot of places to bilge bail, and if it was half as nasty as the High Captains feet. As he saw the ship, he was amazed. It dwarfed  Galen's ship. The light brown weathered prow stuck out proudly, the mast a tower, a sail large enough to wrap the entire ship. Now this, this was a ship. Rody boarded the ship, awestruck by the enormousness of if. He took the ramp on to the deck, seeing there was not a single nail sticking out, not a single plank sticking out of place. Then again, if the High Captain walked over them they tried to hide from his feet. The smell of salt was in the air, as a small man walked out of a cabin on board the ship. He gave Rody a grin, as he had been warned of this by a rider, dispatched by his friend. It was time to give him the introduction. Rody stammered a "H-h-here," and gave the Captain a letter.
The captain read it, folded it up and threw it overboard.

Rody gulped, usually it was not a good sign to have your recommendation thrown overboard. He then stammered something and stopped as the wiry captains gaze settled over him.
"Have you ever worked with pigs?" He asked.
"No?" Rody answered.
"Then what qualifies to Bilge Bail."
Rody considered it, and said "I washed the high captains feet."
"And a fun time you had at that, didn't you, boy," the Captain said, cracking up.
"No,"
"That old man hasn't washed since he was a hundred years old." Rody was surprised when the Captain said this, the Captain saw it his face and said,"It's a joke,"
Rody nodded. Then the captain said "Well better get to Bilge Bailing."
They went around the ships, and Rody was horrified at all the places water could pile up. He returned to the captain, and said "I'll take the job."
"This isn't your choice boy, it's mine, and I say you aren't.
