"Yo, Sandy."

I lit my cigarette as Teresa stood beside me. "Hey."

She leaned on the wall, crossed her legs, and lit a cigarette in her mouth. "How's the literary department so far?" She blew as she turned her face to the big buildings in front of her.

"Good. I got used to George's loud voice. How about you?"

She knitted her brows. "Our EIC is annoying. I hate her."

I chuckled. "You mean Nan?"

"I hate that woman. Always looking down on us. Like, bitch I graduated as magna cum laude in journalism and she dare to look down on me? I'm also older than her so bitch shut up ka na lang." She irritatingly inhaled from her cigarette and blew.

I laughed at her sarcastic voice. I met Teresa Martinez during our welcome party. She caught my attention because of her long, black hair. From her aura, I judged that she's a strong woman who's not to be messed with. I was right. When I first talked to her, her voice was already thick and whole, no sense of femininity like a soft and high pitched voice. And somehow I was kinda attracted to her.

That's just infatuation, though.

And she's a Filipino, by the way.

"Sorry." She said. "I spoke in Filipino in no time."

I smiled. "It's okay." I crushed my cigarette on the trash bin and threw it. "I'll go back now. See 'ya." I waved as I walked away.

"Yeah. See 'ya." She replied.

I was about to walk to my left when the loud volume of the television in the eating area caught my attention. There were still people eating there and there heads turned to the TV when a breaking news flashed. I stopped and watched.

A murder case, I see.

I was surprised when a very familiar face appeared in the news and was being asked by the reporter.

It was Kris.

"We will do everything we can to find the culprit."

That's what he said.

The same thing he said to me three days ago.

And tonight, since I'm free, I'll be drinking with him.

When the news was over, I returned to my department and continued my work.

...

"You looked so serious on TV this afternoon." I jokingly said as I sipped beer. "So scary."
