all rights go to the writers and creators of the movie in time, and if you've got time, you should definitely watch it because justin timberlake ayeeee

it is the year 2169, time is only relative, as is death. somehow, the government managed to genetically modify the human race, to make them have perfect health and appearance, completely stopping the aging process. everyone has a digital clock on their forearm, and once they reach the age of twenty-five, the clock starts counting down from one year. once the clock strikes zero, the person "times out". time is used as a transfer, money has became irrelevant. time can be transferred between people, and from time capsules.

riley salas is twenty-eight, and lives in dayton, the poorest out of the four time zones in the united states. you barely find anyone who has more than twenty-four hours on their clock. and despite of time being the only thing that keeps someone alive, when you live in dayton, you do not want to have more than twenty four hours on your clock, as people would kill for only a few minutes here.

"how much do you have?" langdon, rileys best friend of ten years asked her as the two of them sat down on one of the chairs at the bar, after their work day at the factory.

for each day you work, you recieve twenty-four hours, which is just enough to make you last until the next time you get to work. there is not much room to work with.

"eighteen hours, twenty-four minutes aaaaand...thirty-six seconds." riley said, shrugging lightly at langdon as she took a sip out of her beer, which she paid three minutes for.

ten years ago, riley and langdon met at the job at the factory, him being the only one of everyone there who didn't give her weird eyed for working at a supposedly job for men.

she had to though, to support her mother, who was struggling more and more to earn enough time for the two of them, numerous times, riley caught her getting home with less than a minute on her clock.

once, there have only been three seconds on her clock, before she managed to reach out to a time capsule. that was when riley went out and got herself the first job she could get, which was at the armory factory.

along with her job, riley isn't a girly-girl either. she loves drinking in bars, getting into fights, has been arrested multiple times, and we shall not start speaking of her drug record.

"ha, I'm beating you, twelve hours, fifteen minutes and three seconds." langdon laughed, emptying his bottle of beer.

"do you have got any time capsules left? don't play around, dud-" before she could finish the sentence, someone caught her eye.

not because of the way he looked, which was remarkable and unusual for anyone she has ever seen, but because of the way he was dressed. a suit.

there are not many people in dayton who run around in suits, and those that do, would never even imagine to walk in here.

riley immediately knew that he was from new greenwich.

new greenwich is the wealthiest one of the time zones, you need to transfer a year of your time to even get across the time zones border, let alone live there.

the look on the strangers face was provoking, like he did not care about anything in life.

riley quickly turned around to face langdon again, who was nipping on his beer.

the evening proceeded and it appeared as if the guy who entered the bar in the suit, really was from new greenwich, as he ended up paying for the majority of the drinks for everyone present.

seconds later, riley saw the minutemen, a gang of criminals who stole peoples time, timing them out. she was aware that they, especially the leader, fortis, knew about the amount of time the stranger had on his clock.
