fall out (trittany-ish)

i know i said i wouldn't post anything on here anymore but hey, what d'ya know???? i had some inspiration for a one shot, so i hope y'all enjoy it.

brittany always thought here was an unspoken girl code, or friend code, that said that your friends ex was off limits. she never even thought she would have to think about a code like that, because who would've guessed?

now britt wasn't one of those butt hurt exes, who would despise their ex partners new partner and wish for their relationship to find an awful end, considering that she knew those two people for years before things fell out.

to understand why brittany is in fact so hurt about this whole situation, you'd have to know the secret details behind it, details which she and everyone involved kept a secret from the public. mainly because she didn't feel like dealing with all the backlash afterwards. the two people we are talking about in this story, well three people actually, are brittany, trevor and one of britts best friends, jordan.

it all started about three years ago, when trevor and brittany began to briefly date. it was low key, they didn't even tell the rest of the cast until a few weeks in, just to try out the waters, just to see if their chemistry, which everyone seemed to find so intriguing, really would make a relationship between those two work. it worked. for two years, up until last year, when they both choose to mutually break up, after they finished filming season four of the next step, and both had different plans for the future.

brittany wanted to stay in canada, work on her social media presence, trevor wanted to move to los angeles, and start choreographing. they would've probably made it work, because brittanys path did lead her to travel the world, with her ending up staying in los angeles for a pretty long amount of time too.

things between them got really serious as well, which probably caused brittany to experience one of the biggest heartbreaks in her young life. she found herself seeking for his attention, which wasn't so hard to get, as he himself was still interested in her, and did still love her, as he told her multiple times over the phone when they had their daily conversations.

but then things changed. trevor got busier, resulting in brittany and him not talking as much anymore, and in that time, britt met benjamin, whom she started to fall for head over heels instantly. it seemed as if her heartbreak from splitting with trevor was all gone just by the fact that she spent time with benjamin.

it resulted in brittany not speaking to trevor or any of her old cast members anymore. they all lost touch, including brittany and jordan, who were in fact best friends at some point.

throughout social media, brittany learned that jordan moved to los angeles too, and spent loads of time with trevor. which made brittany kind of happy, as that meant that they wouldn't be alone out there.

up until one day, when brittany and benjamin decided to pay los angeles a visit, for some kind of brand deal they were invited to.

she will probably never forget the first few moments of arriving at that event, which caused her heartbreak to happen all over again, despite the fact that she was in a loving relationship. she couldn't get the image out of her head.

upon arriving, she and her boyfriend were lead to an area, where some of the other people booked for the brand deal were, music was playing, everyone had a colorful drink in their hand, and there they were, in the back of the area, sitting on a beach chair. together.

and brittany was pretty sure at this moment everything around her stopped. it was just like she's been betrayed by the two people whom she knew the most and were the closest to her.

"britt?" she heard her boyfriends voice, almost like through a trance, as she came back to reality again. her throat was on fire, her stomach was too, and her heart seemed to be broken. she looked back at benjamin and forced a smile on her face. "what's wrong?" he asked, a visibly worried look on his face. "you look really.. weird." he added, one of his hands placed on her shoulder, the other one grabbed one of her hands.

"i'm fine, it's nothing." she added, taking a deep breath, as she turned away from the corner trevor and jordan were sitting in, facing benjamin again. "lets go." she added, before she started walking towards the bar that served about every drink brittany could imagine.

hours later, the two of them were back in their hotel room again, brittany was laying on the bed, while benjamin was taking a shower.

the girl sighed lightly to herself. she was stupid for letting this get so close to her. for letting it affect her that much. and maybe it was the fact that they didn't tell her anything about it, and seemed to be deeply in love, as in love as two people could be. but maybe it was also brittany being selfish. she always was selfish when it came to trevor. somehow, even after breaking up and not talking to him for months, he was still her soft spot.

brittany sighed again, pushing the blanket off of herself and getting up to step out on the balcony. she closed her eyes for a moment, the cool night breeze on her skin, and tried to clear her mind.

she had to stop acting like this, like a child. she was with benjamin and she was happy with him, yet she couldn't stop imagining what it would be like if she would be still with trevor. after all, she was in love with him at some point. or she still is...

this is in no way meant to be anti any ship, i like all of them, and i just had a little inspiration to write a bit. it's most likely not even good, and i might try and write up a better version of it, but i just thought that some people would maybe like to read a lil trittany.
