HARRY:
*Monday*
"So," Ted started. "The crowd was totally impressed by your music video yesterday. I guess my daughter really did a good job."
Ted called us in for a meeting. It's about our single, the music video, and other matters to expand One Direction worldwide.
"I sent Simon the video this morning," he continued. "So far, he has no response yet but while waiting, the board has decided to release the single this Friday. The music video, 2 weeks after."
"We release the song through a radio concert and interview," he added. "They'll play 'Best Song Ever' live at KPFK Station, followed by an interview. It finishes around 6." The lads and I gasped.
"What?" Ted asked. 'Um, sir," Liam said. "This Friday is your daughter's recital, we kind of got invited and she's expecting us." Ted nodded. "Really?" he seemed surprised at the information.
"Well," he thought for a moment. "Some of you can go to the recital. Two can stay and do the interview till it's done."
"Yes," Susan agreed. "Harry and Louis will do the interview. The other lads can go to Summer's recital." Susan, you bitch. I wanted to go to Summer's recital.
"Hmm..." Ted nodded. "Alright, you boys be in the station by 5 this Friday. The interview only takes an hour." I sighed and nodded. The lads looked at me sadly.
The rest of the meeting went on. Ted talked about a concert, a 4th of July music festival, the making of our 4th album, and all of the above about our career.
I was angry at our manager, Susan. She just volunteered me automatically when I would not be available on that day. I want to be there during Summer's recital.
"Simon just sent me a message," Ted looked at his laptop. "He said the music video was brilliant. Good job, boys." The lads and I cheered.
"Well," he closed his laptop. "After the interview, we start on the album and the music festival. Dismissed." We all piled out of his office.
We all went to the car and the lads still gave me a look of sympathy. While they watch Summer's whole recital, I suffer on the radio show.
I know the recital's a 2 hour performance, but it begins the same time as the interview. I might not make it in time for Summer's performance.
I don't want her to think I'm bailing on her, not after all the trust she built on me, not after Niall starts to make me feel weird random feelings towards her, not after we became friends.
"Haz," Liam said. "If it makes you feel better, I'll take your place during the interview. Let's tell Mr. Browning that we'll switch. I'll do the interview, you go to--"
"That's not a good idea," Susan stepped in. We all scoffed at her. She's one bitchy manager, but she gets the job done. "The 1DHQ already tweeted Harry and Louis live at the KPFK station this Friday."
"You can't disappoint the fans, Harry," she reminded me. "Just try to catch up on the recital. The interview's only an hour. That recital of hers is 2 hours, you can make it by the 2nd half."
It was supposed to make me feel better, but it didn't. The show's not entirely about Summer, but she's the main act. She's playing the rad song. I don't know what act or musical number she is, but I had to be there.
"Lad," Louis approached me. "We'll make it on time. Trust me." Best Friend comforts. Aaahh. "But the---" he cut me off. "Main acts are usually beginning, or end of the 2nd half," he said. "if we leave right after, we can make it."
"He's right," Niall said. "You can still see Summer. You will, you will." I smiled at them. "Thanks lads," I said.
"Now," Zayn said. "Anyone fancy pizza for dinner?"

SUMMER:
*earlier that day*
"Wow," Mrs. Peterson smiled at me. "I guess all you really needed was a break to get it right." I laughed and set the violin down as I finished playing.
"Yeah," I said. "I guess I just needed rest." She smirked. "So," she said. "Your mom already gave out the invitations?" I nodded.
"Friends and family," I said. "Friends mostly. My aunt lives in Spain so she can't come." She took a seat beside me. "Are you excited?" she asked.
"Yeah," I sighed. "but nervous too. I mean, I'm glad that my friends and family are watching but they might see me screw up. It's a 50-50 performance."
"Your nervousness," she said. "Does a guy have anything to do with that?" I blushed. I'm not nervous, I'm actually excited. Harry's watching. "No," I shook my head. "I'm just nervous my friends are coming?"
"Who are these friends?" Mrs. Peterson asked. "Alice? Loraine? They're always in your recitals. Who now?" I sighed. "Um," I looked down. "My friend, Harry, is coming."
"Ooohh," she smirked. "And do you like this Harry fellow?" I felt my face turn red and I looked down. After the incident in the yacht last Saturday, I don't know. "Do I?", I asked her.
Mrs. Peterson smiled. "You're making that face," she pointed out. "Summer, you like this boy!" I blushed furiously. "Y-you think?", I asked. "Be honest with me," she said. "I'll be asking you a few questions."
"Is he constantly on your mind?", she asked. I nodded. "Do you feel different when he's around?" I nodded. "Do you think way more than usual when he's not around?" I nodded. "Do you overthink about his opinions?" I nodded. I was being honest.
"Summer," Mrs. Peterson said. "You like this boy!" Maybe, maybe not. But my heart does seem to react different when I'm around Harry. I guess I do like him. "Maybe," I mumbled. "But we're just friends."
Mrs. Peterson shook her head. "'Friends' might just be a temporary label," she said. "Who knows, he wants to be more than that." She winked. I looked down. I'm not exactly Harry's type. I sighed.
"What's wrong?", she asked. "No. Even if I do like him," I shook my head. "He wouldn't like me. I'm just plain, old boring Summer. I don't party, I just sit at home and slack. I'm not like the rest of my family. A-List stuff."
"But, Summer," Mrs. Peterson reasoned. "He made an effort to be your friend. Nothing's impossible. You won't know if he likes you, or not. Why not take a chance? He came into your life for a reason. Don't be discouraged, like him if you want to."
I smiled at Mrs. Peterson. "You really think I have a chance, Mrs. P?", I asked. She nodded. "Of course," she said. "You're beautiful, you're smart, you're talented, you're a good person. If this Harry boy was smart, he'd see that in you."
"Thanks," I looked down, blushing at my music teacher's comment. "So," she smiled. "Do you want to have 2 more rounds of practice before I dismiss you?" I nodded. "Sure," I said. "Better safe than sorry for the performance."
I played the Elgar B Minor with high spirits. I'm excited and nervous for Friday. Excited since it's almost over, and nervous because I really hope Harry would enjoy it.
Yes, I like him. I like him. His beautiful personality, his cheekiness, his sweetness, everything about him is just plain amazing. I really hope he comes and sees my recital, and I hope he likes it.
Yeah, I do like him. Yeah.
// So very sorry for the late update. Senior year is so hectic.
