After about 20 minutes, we pull up to the orphanage. It looks small but well taken care of from the outside. The red brick building has ivy growing up it and I can see a big fenced in back yard. I can see a couple faces peeking out of on the windows on the first floor and I can't help but wave.

"Ready lads?" Luke stands on the doorstep and we all crowd behind him. He rings the bell and it takes a couple seconds before a young lady comes to answer it. She has brown hair that's pulled into a tight bun, she's wearing simple makeup and a formal outfit (white blouse and navy pencil skirt). She gives us a smile and opens the door wider

"Come on in! I'm Ms. Kathy Cole, but please call me Kathy. The kids are all waiting in the living room" She closes the door behind us and leads us through the hallways to the living room. There are pictures on all the walls. It looks like a cozy family home.

I walk in first, followed by Luke, Ashton then Calum. The living room is a pretty blue color, with a couple couches, some bookshelves, and a tv. As we line up at the "front" of the room I see a small group of girls disperses and where they were standing is a small girl. She looks so helpless. She's short, with bruises and cuts all over her arms and legs. She has the most beautiful gray eyes, but they're filled with tears. I make a mental note to go and talk to her once we're done introducing ourselves.

"Hi guys! As some of you may know, we're 5 Seconds of Summer!" Ashton says smiling. He turns to me and I talk for a couple seconds about the plan for this afternoon.

"We're spending the afternoon here with you! we might play a couple songs, and we can teach you how to play with our instruments!"

Everyone claps and the boys and I separate. I look around for the little girl. It takes me a couple seconds before I see her sitting in a little ball with her fist in her mouth.

"I'm gonna go talk to her 'k Luke?" He glances in the direction I'm pointing before nodding.

As I walk towards her, she starts sobbing, shuffling backward, and shaking. I stop a few feet away from her and sit down. She won't look at me at all, but her entire body is shaking. I don't know what's wrong with her, but I feel such a strong connection to her that I know I need to fix whatever has broken her. I pull my phone out and text our band group chat.

m- Guys come here slowly and quietly. There's an absolutely heartbreaking and adorable little girl and I need to fix her.

a- I thought we weren't adopting a kid?

l- Well it wasn't the plan....

c- I'm down with it!

m- please guys just come see her. We can decide together she's just so cute and broken. I think she needs some love.
