*Sorry it took a while for a update I was lacking motivation and also I made this chapter a little longer than usual so I hope it makes up for it!*

Ross was hanging in my arms while I forced him to press down on his bullet wound. He was heavy, but it didn't slow down me as I ran down the hall way. I kept stepping over glass and cutting my feet on the cold littered ground. The sound of screams and gun shots didn't seem to seize in the background from every angle. I heard a loud explosion, and suddenly the side of the building collapsed in front of me. I dropped to my knees and covered Ross with my body so no rumble had crushed him. Mark and Jack pulled me back into their arms as the dust suffocated me like a horrible gas, and then pulled Ross out right after. I watched as the walls collapsed slowly caved in, and then collapsed slowly in a domino affect. I heard screaming and crying from everywhere. This was more than an assassination attempt, it's a full on attack.

"Where are the others?" I desperately questioned both Mark and Jack with panic.

"I don't know." Jack heaved out to me in exhaustion. His face was coloured grimly with rumbled dust and smeared blood.

"Go find them, I'll see you back at home." I told them. "Everyone already left the building, so I think the attack moved out."

"You can't go alone." Mark suddenly insisted as he took hold of my arm. I softly brushed him off and took Ross back into my arms to carry. I gave them a reassuring nod.

"I maybe small but I can run like a motherfucker... Now go!!"

They hesitated on their way back in, but slowly I saw them disappear in to the cloud of dust. I coughed viscously as I continued my way forward, kicking over pieces of rumble and hopping around with Ross in my arms. After a couple of painful trips and cuts, I started to see a bit of sunlight in the distance. I kept running until I came through the surface of cloud and the mess cleared away. I looked behind me to see half the building destroyed and in a million pieces. Half of it was still standing, and all I could hear was gunshots from in the city and inside the building. When I looked forward I saw someone with a large gun watching me. I carefully rubbed the glass off my feet with the top of my other foot and then did the same to the other. All the smaller pieces had come off, except the large pieces that had already penetrated my skin. It hurt to do it, but it was the only way to stop myself from getting injured more. I kept my eyes stuck to the man while Ross hung in my arms. His eyes were dark and threatening. His self-rolled cigarette hung from his lips while he puffed on it leisurely. His coat was black that went just below his waist with calve high combat boots. On his head, sat a white mask that he lifted up to smoke his cigarette.

"That's not one of us." Ross quietly whispered to me.

"I know,"

Neither of us budged, we were still in a little showdown. It was like he was the bear, and I was the prey. He didn't attack first, because he had the weapon as advantage. I took in a sharp breath through my teeth. I took off to the left where the forest began, on the other side I'd eventually reach our house after a few minutes of running. On my way to trees as coverage, bullets were shot at me, only just missing me as every angle. I reached the forest before their aim could lock onto me. Just as I thought I was deep enough to be safe, I felt something impact my arm. I screamed out in agony as I felt my flesh bleed out. The bullet just skimmed my arm. I kept going, while growling out in pain. My arms and legs were turning to jelly from the heavy sprint, but my body didn't stop. I kept going and I didn't even dare to look back.

"Hey princess!" I heard someone else call after me.

That voice. I know who that is.

I knew in the first second who it was calling me from behind and instantly my legs took me faster. I kept going through trees and bushes with Ross's head digging deeply into my chest protectively. I saw the back of my house facing my way and instantly felt a relief over come me. I threw myself viscously forward to the garden with my last amount of energy and then to the back door. I carefully put Ross down on the couch but then ran to the door and locked it before anyone could come. I threw everything off the counter in the kitchen and grabbed scissors, towels and finally a needle and thread. Samaya and Bayuse came running to me with fear after all the chaos outside. I hushed their whimpers sweetly and guided them to the bathroom where I kept them secured inside. They scratched at the door for a few minutes until I finally shushed them and they listened to my command patiently.
