The next whole week I caught myself thinking of Clio, her tall slightly curvy body, long deep red hair and the most amazing green eyes. I think I caught myself drooling too, nice one Zak.
I was at my museum unpacking a few things, getting things ready. My museum was opening soon and I had so much stuff to do, thankfully I had Jay, Aaron and my mother giving me a hand to sort out the endless amount of boxes that held artefacts.
"Zak!" I jolted up and turned my head to who was calling my name.
"Dude! Come in Zak!" Aaron threw an empty box and me which somehow ended up with me falling on my ass.
"The fuck dude!" I reached up to get up and Aaron sat back laughing, lucky he found it funny.
"I've been calling your name? You in the zone today or what?"
"Just a little distracted." I mumbled as I picked up the box.
"About work, ghosts or that banging chick you were stalking the other night?"
I froze as he mentioned Clio, how did they see me? Do they all know i was following her? I couldn't even breathe, words weren't coming out of my mouth and I had sweaty hands.
"I-I um shit" that's all I said, that's all I got.
"It's okay dude, relax. This won't take away your man card." He laughed. "It's good to see you look at a women and especially follow one, did you speak to her?"
"Yea I-I saw her leaving the men's toilets and we had small talk then she walked off so I met her back at the bar and introduced myself but she already knew who I was. Her name is Clio and that's all I got." I shrugged my head and went back to work.
"Clio. Very pretty name." Aaron made a little humming noise and disappeared, thank god he left I was beginning to get nauseous with his 101 questions.
I really couldn't get hung up on Clio, I didn't find her in Vegas, she might live in Kentucky maybe I might need to go back there?
"Zak still on for dinner for Ash's birthday?" Jay popped around the corner.
"Um yes yes. 8pm right?" I stopped what I was doing and focused on Jay.
"Sure it Z, see you there" he got his keys and him and arson left together.
I didn't know whether my mother was here or not so went looking for her, I found her sitting on the floor taking a look at some Ouija boards.
"I wouldn't tamper with them" I firmly told her. They weren't fun to play, countless occasions when I played them it fucked me up.
"What was Aaron going on about before? Clio?" She turned and looked at me.
"Just someone I met once and that's it." I hissed at her and stormed off. "Lock up, I'm leaving." I grabbed my keys and headed off, everyone was giving my third degree burns about this chick!
-----------------------------
"Happy birthday Ash!" We all cheered and made a toast to Ash, the whole crew was here and three friends of Ash's. They kept winking and trying to seductively lick their lips, it was a no from me a no to all.
"Anyone want a drink?" I called into the group.
I got a few orders and headed to the bar, one of Ash's friends Meg followed me and I was dreading it.
"I can give you a hand?" She winked and slowly grazed her hand down my stomach.
"Uh no thanks." I turned away and headed back to the bar, I think Meg followed but I wasn't sure as I was trying to escape. She was nothing to look at, nothing interesting and I wouldn't even go there.
I placed my order at the bar and waited, I searched around for Meg but she was no where to be found.
"If you keep following me I might have to press charges." A body gracefully pushed past me and sat next to me. "Look it's Zak, Zak Bagans."
It was Clio, she drowned the rest of her drink and started to giggled.
"Clio?" I honestly didn't think I'd see her anytime soon or ever again.
"Yes Clio, you remembered" she cheered.
"How can I forget? You're the woman who used the men's room." I chuckled a laugh but she didn't find that funny.
"I needed to pee." She shrugged her shoulders and stood up to leave again, without warning.
"Hey!" I grabbed her wrist. "Stay. Chat?"
"I would love to Zak Bagans but as you can see" she pointed across the room to the group of men. "I'm not here alone." She kissed my cheek and ran off again.
"Clio!" As she swerved through the crowd she never looked back, at Bobby Mackey's she did but not here. I waited for her to turn around but nothing.
I gathered my drinks and headed to the table, I was feeling like crap now and wanted to go home.
"Hey guys, I'm turning in. Not feeling well." I reached over to Ash and gave her a kiss on the cheek and left. I will admit I was rushing out fast to see Clio maybe I could see her leave.
The Gods were on my side as I found Clio sitting by herself on a park bench.
"Thought you weren't here alone?" I sat next to her. "They didn't take you home?"
She scoffed at me and rolled her eyes, my god she did that so well it was more of a turn on than a rude gesture.
"They were friends. So why would I go home with them?" She folded her arms but refused to look at me.
"I wasn't implying--"
"Ofcourse you weren't! Just go please!" She held her head in her arms, I wanted to stay but she clearly didn't way me to stay.
"How are you getting home?" I stood right in front of her.
"I dunno" she whispered. "Taxi, bus? Walk maybe?"
"I don't think so." I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards my car.
She giggled and threw herself on me holding me tight.
This woman was hot and cold, I couldn't seem to understand her.
