They always underestimated her.

Though she was barely five feet tall and rebellion as all hell she was more then met the eyes, and yet over a hundred years of having this knowledge they always seemed to forget this.

For weeks since Jacob Black had imprinted and then rejected the petite vampire all eyes had been set in her direction. When it wasn't her adoptive parents constantly questioning her well being, it was her adoptive siblings rather abrupt change of subject whenever she entered the room... acting like she couldn't read their faces and know the previous topic was her. Edward was also hovering, constantly staring at his sister like she would break into glass from the overwhelming amount of emotions crossing her thoughts.

Alessia had discovered that the worst attention she's gained since that eventful day was the one Bella Swan gave. She had grown to despise the amount of pity and sorrow behind her brown eyes, the whispers of guilt that escaped her lips every few minutes. Her constant "sorry's" did little to console Alessia, mainly because she didn't need them.

Alessia was good of tricking her own mind, even better at blocking out the pain. She's convinced herself from the first day that Jacob Black was not necessary in her life, that she could move on the next thousands of years perfectly sane without ever seeing the gorgeous boy. For he was only a stupid boy too stubborn to realize that even the deadliest of battles was minuscule compared to love.

And besides Alessia had already found and then lost her soul mate.

Drake Campbell was nothing like Jacob Black and for that she was grateful, because she had promised herself that anything beside Drake's love was not worth her pain... much less her time.

She thought of her dead husband often the last weeks, even more so missed him. He was a spark that ignited flames within her cold heart, a rarity of emotions she could not control.

Physically the girl even shifted, arms tightening around her chest as if to guard from an explosion of pain.

Alessia thought back to Drake's tender eyes, and the way they widened for a milk second every time she looked his way, and when her smile fell upon him they were liquid gold orbs, shining brightly. God, how she missed Drake.

"A party sounds nice? Right Alessia?" The topaz eyed girl looked up, sucking in a quick breath of cold air. All at once reality set in, the loud commotion of the cafeteria ringing in her ears and the hardened gazes prickling against her porcelain skin. Edwards were the hardest, analyzing her facial expression as to get a glimpse of her pain. Sometimes he could read her like his favorite book and sometimes she was unreachable.

Her pink lips tensed, instantly hating Alice for calling her out amongst the table. They were sat with their "human" friends, a lot of the groupies that tended to hang around Bella. There was Mike, Eric, Angela, and Jessica who weren't entirely bad in retrospect but she still couldn't find herself willingly making conversation with most of them. It was always Alice or Bella that forced her to speak up, one of which being today.

"A party really Alice? How many times have you tried that one?" Alessia's sweet voice could have been taken politely if the pixie haired girl hadn't known her for years. She could tell by her tightened jawline that a party was the last thing she wanted to do.

Alice raised a brow at her sister, amusement in her eyes when she noted how quickly the younger twin was able to answer. To which Alessia lips poured in triumph at her victory over Alice.

"It'll be fun." Alice hummed, her contagious smile convincing almost all those at the table she was right.

Alessia however was immune to her families skills, falling her eyes and looking away, "yeah that's what you said last time."
