We bought a new house, my boyfriend and I. He is in charge of the "new" construction, converting the kitchen into the master bedroom for instance, while I am in charge of painting the house and making it homey again. Before I could start painting, though, there was wallpaper everywhere. On every wall and even on the ceiling! Removing it was brutal, but oddly satisfying. The best feeling is getting a really long peel similar to your skin when you're peeling from a sun burn. I don't know about you but I kinda make a game peeling, on the hunt for the longest piece before it rips.

Under the corner section of paper in every room is a person's name and a date. Curiosity got the best of me, and one night I googled one of the names and discovered the names were of missing people. And the dates under the names were the dates they disappeared.

The next day, I made a list of all the names and dates, then notified the police. The crime scene unit came out and started to suspect the house. I was approached multiple times and asked questions that I had no answer too. One tech came over and asked to the wallpaper. I looked at him funny but complied. He took a piece and when over to his makeshift lab in the van they brought. A cop approached me again, I kept my eyes on the tech that was analyzing the wallpaper.

"Do you mind if we take some wallpaper from each room?" The cop said to me.

"What for? Why do you guys need wallpaper? What does that have to do with all the missing people?" My voiced raised and I got more nervous with each question.

I overheard the tech say "Yup, it's human."

Human? What's human? My mind raced in confusion

The tech came over to me and looked at the cop, "I need to speak to her please."

The cop nodded and backed away.

"Ma'am, The wallpaper you removed from the walls, it wasn't exactly wallpaper you were removing."

I felt the blood drain from my face.
