The rest of the week went by in an absolute blur. It started with someone ordering fifty of our most popular cupcakes for their family gathering or something. Not long after someone decided they wanted us to cater for their party and we had to supply hundreds of dollars worth of desserts.
Don't get me wrong the money we made from these customers was welcome, it was just a very busy week. But it was finally Wednesday, my date with Mike.
I heard the bell ring, and looked up to a familiar face.
"Mr. Ricci, how great to see you. How are you?" I'll admit to being slightly surprised to see him here.
"I'm doing great, the doctor said I should begin to move around more so here I am." He flashed me a grin.
"Well what can I get for you?"
"Hm, I'll take a s'mores cupcake, a chocolate mint cupcake, and... Let's see, how about some dark chocolate bark."
"Are you sure you should eat all that?" I question uncertain, I mean come on he just began healing!
"Of course, I gotta keep my strength up somehow," he winked at me "besides one cupcake is for Vince, and so is the bark."
"Oh ok. For here or to go?"
"To go."
As I bend down to grab him a box, and to start filling it I hear the bell ring again. Standing up to greet them I see Mike walking through the door.
"Mike! What are you doing here?" I say, the surprise evident on my face.
"Just coming to make sure you remembered our plans for tonight. I mean you did tell me you had a bad memory, I'm just helping you out." He grins at me sending a wink in my direction.
I roll my eyes at him and continue to put Mr. Ricci's chocolate away. Turning away from Mike for a moment I hand Mr. Ricci his box.
"That will be 13.89$." I tell him before speaking to Mike again.
"Well sir if your not here to buy anything then I'm going to have to ask you to leave." I tease.
"Fine fine I'll take two cake pops." He smirks "and maybe the number of the cute cashier."
With a giggle I swipe Mr. Ricci's card, not realizing he had witnessed the whole exchange, also not noticing how a scowl had settled onto his face.
"Thanks Tessa, I'll see you around." He says curtly, the laid back man from earlier had disappeared. That I do notice giving him a confused look.
"It was not problem I'll see ya..." With a shrug I turn to Mike and begin putting his cake pops into a box.
"Who was that?" Mike questions, his eyes following me around the counter.
"Oh just someone I met a week ago." I dismiss. "So what time do you want me to come over tonight?"
"Well I figured we could have dinner at seven, so maybe six?"
"Alright six sounds great." I grin up at him.
After he had paid we said our goodbyes. I turned around only to see Cherease standing there, a smirk on her face.
"So, how's Mikey?" She grinned noticing my blush.
"Oh shut up." I roll my eyes trying, and failing, to hide my embarrassment.
"So who was that spicy Italian that walked in?" She asked, one eyebrow raised.
"Oh that was the man I saved." I dismissed.
