Katy couldn't believe it, her heart was racing; she held onto Shawn so tight, and he onto her. This was it, this was real, her and Shawn. They let go of each other, both beaming so wide and so bright; he took the ring out of its box and slipped it onto Katy's finger. She looked down at it, "It's beautiful, Shawn," Katy breathed.
"I knew you'd like it," he was unable to stop smiling, his heart racing with hers.
Grinning, she kissed him again, before standing up and turning around to face her daughter, "Come here, babygirl." Maya rushed out of Riley's arms and into Katy's. Shawn stayed on the ground and watched, his heart bursting.
"You okay?" Katy asked her daughter once they'd stopped hugging.
Maya sniffed and nodded, grinning, "Yeah." Katy wiped a tear off Maya's cheek, smiling back at her.
"You got a hug for me, or what?" Shawn asked, standing up; smiling widely. Maya hugged him, "I love you too," she whispered into his chest. Shawn rested his head on Maya's and smiled at Katy, who was watching them with tears in her eyes.
"I'm glad," he said to Maya, "that would've been very awkward otherwise." Maya laughed and looked up at him, before opening her arms and pulling her mother into the hug.
The boys had now come out of hiding in the hall, and were standing beside Riley; who had one hand on Farkle's shoulder, and the whole Lucas, triangle situation was momentarily forgotten.
"Cor?" Shawn asked, letting go of Katy and Maya and turning around to face Cory.
"Shawnie?" Cory took Shawn's hand and gave him a hug, patting him on the back. "Congratulations."
"Thanks... Best Man?"
"Oh, you don't even need to ask!" Cory exclaimed joyously.
"Do you wanna be my Maid of Honour, Topanga?" Katy asked her.
"I'd be honoured," Topanga replied, hugging her.
"And Maya, Riley, bridesmaids?" Katy asked them, turning around.
The two linked arms and smiled at each other, "Of course."
"You know what the maid of honour and the best man do on the night of the wedding, don't you, Topanga?" Cory muttered, raising his eyebrows and nudging her.
"I do," replied Topanga, threw her teeth, "but I don't think you should say that in front of your daughter's friends who also happen to be your students,"
Cory opened his mouth as if to say something, then shut it and then opened it and said under his breath, "Good point."
"You know what, I'll get the champagne," Topanga said loudly, walking to the kitchen.
"Champagne? Since when do we have champagne, Topanga?" Cory asked, scrunching his face up in confusion, as his wife pulled a bottle out of the cupboard.
"Since I keep it hidden from you, so you don't drink it all," she replied without looking at him.
"Is that us in thirty years?" Katy asked quietly, stepping back to Shawn.
He put an arm around her and held her hand. "No, we'll be you and me," he replied softly.
Katy couldn't help smile at that; she turned around and gave him a quick, tender kiss, "I'm in love with you, too," she whispered.
"I would hope so!" He replied, grinning. "We're engaged!" She laughed, and hugged him again.
"Okay, everybody ready?" Topanga asked, before opening the champagne with a loud pop, and pouring it into champagne flutes. "There's a bottle of lemonade in the fridge," she said as she poured the champagne, "if you kids want something." Riley quickly got out the bottle and poured five glasses.
Topanga raised her glass, "To Katy and Shawn, and their forever," she said, smiling at the couple, "I don't think I've ever seen you two so happy."
"To Katy and Shawn," everybody said in unison, raising their glasses, and drinking.
After the drinks and a couple more rounds of congratulations', Shawn slipped his hand into Katy's and whispered into her ear, "Let's go out to dinner, right now,"
"Are you asking me out on a date, Hunter?" She asked, smiling slightly.
"Yeah, and we're engaged now, so it'd be really bad for me if you said no,"
Katy laughed, "Yes, of course,"
The two stood up, "We're heading off now," Katy announced to everyone; there was a chorus of goodbyes.
"C'mon, Maya," Shawn said, jerking his head to the door, "we're going out to dinner, the three of us."
"As a family?" Maya asked, her eyes wide.
"Yeah, as a family, I like that." He replied with a smile, and Katy squeezed his hand, smiling too.
Maya gave Riley a quick hug, stood up, and left with Shawn and Katy.
"Where are we going?" She questioned as they walked down to the car.
"Out to dinner," Shawn told her.
"I know, but where?"
"I don't know... Katy, do you know where we're going?"
She laughed, "No," and then she smiled at the two of them, and said more seriously, "I want to go somewhere there, as a family, I like that too."
Maya smiled back at her mother, before saying, "You two do realise I'm covered in purple paint, right?"
"Who cares?" Shawn laughed, putting an arm around Katy and Maya. "I just want us all to go out together, exactly as we are at this moment."
"How about we go for pizza then," Katy suggested after a few moments, as they reached the car.
"Pizza it is then!" Shawn agreed, grinning, as the three of them got into the car.
"You ready?" He asked, turning his head to face Katy in the passenger seat.
"For pizza? Always," Katy teased, with a smile.
He tilted his head and gave a her look that said 'you know what I mean', smiling. His hand was on the gearstick and Katy put hers on top, squeezing it as she smiled at him. She placed her other hand on Shawn's cheek and kissed him gently, "I can't wait."
Maya cleared her throat loudly, "You two do realise I'm in the back seat, right?!"
They laughed, breaking apart. "Right, yep. Pizza, let's go!" Shawn said, turning the keys in the ignition, and driving away.
