Double the fun

Chapter 3

I backed away and could feel that I was blushing so I avoided eye contact, "Um Jack, uh, what are you doing?"

He smiled, "Leaning in for a kiss".

I sighed, "That's what I thought, sorry but I don't really know you enough to be able to do that with you or actually have any feelings of that magnitude for you yet".

I heard Finn's voice say from next to me, "I told you she wouldn't let you kiss her, you really shouldn't have bet that she would".

I looked at Finn and then asked Jack with wide eyes, "You bet on me?"

He wasn't looking at me as he responded as if trying to avert my eyes, "Yeah", then he lowered his head as if with sadness, "Sorry".

I was mad no better yet I was furious, "Sorry my ass". I got up with my comic, bumping shoulders with Finn, and made my way to the cashier. I paid, found Jasmine, and dragged her back to the hotel.

She looked at me with wide eyes as I dragged her along, "What's wrong?"

We were now at the entrance, "I never want to see those twins ever again". We were waiting for the elevator and I could hear the door man arguing with some people so we both looked over our shoulders, they were the twins.

Jasmine waved at them and yelled, "They're with us!" The door man left them alone and they walked towards us in their trench coats. I refused to look at either one of them.

"Cielo" Jack whispered behind me. The elevator dinged and then opened its doors.

Jasmine walked in and put her hand up in front of me, "You have to fix whatever happened between you guys", she then pressed a button and the doors closed. I waited a moment and then pressed the elevator button to go up.

"Cielo" Jack whispered again but this time I turned around and faced him furiously. He sighed, "While we were shopping with Jasmine I told Finn that I found you attractive".

Finn nodded, "I told him 'I bet that she won't let you kiss her even if you tried'".

Jack's cheeks became a light shade of pink, "I told him that I bet that you would but I was hoping that you wouldn't, because you knew your real worth". He then just looked at me like a puppy that's being disciplined for peeing the couch.

I sighed and rubbed my hand across my face, "You guys are unbelievable". The elevator dinged.

Jack was looking at his shoes as he said "Sorry".

I stepped into the elevator, "I'll at least tell you this . . . I think you're attractive too".

Jack looked at me shocked, "Wait, so does that mean you're not mad at me?"

"What do you think?" I said as the elevator doors closed.
