The next day Jasmine and I decided to take a walk in the nearby park. I decided that day to wear a long sleeve plaid shirt, high waisted boot cut jeans, a bull buckled belt, and short brown boots that were hidden under my jeans except for the foot area. Jasmine was just wandering around but I decided to walk around the playground area. I spotted a little boy, he was blonde and he seemed to be alone. He was looking around his surroundings and seemed about to cry.
I walked towards him, got down on one knee, and asked him "Are you lost?"
He looked at me scared for a second but then looked around himself seeing that I was the only one who was trying to help him, so he eventually nodded.
I looked at him with a smile and extended my hand, "I'm Cielo, what's your name?"
He extended his tiny hand towards mine and shook my pinky. "I'm James" he said in a very small voice.
I stood up, "Well James, who did you come here with?"
"My momma" he said immediately.
"Well what does your momma look like or better yet what was she wearing?" I asked him.
He was silent for a moment as if he was trying to remember. "Um" he finally said, "She had a purple coat and her hair looks like mine but longer and prettier".
I nodded, "Would you like to get on my back so that we could find her much more easily because we'll both be able to see?"
He nodded and then I put him on my back. We both looked around the area for a few minutes and then I decided to stand on the highest point on the child's playground area. After a few more minutes we still didn't find her so then I yelled "Has anyone lost this little boy that's on my back?!" Then I saw out of the corner of my eye a blonde woman in a purple coat frantically running towards us.
Little James began to yell happily "That's my momma!" I got down from the point where we were on the playground. I then handed James over to the woman who hugged him with so much love it was just . . . wow.
James smiled happily looking at me and he said "Momma this cowgirl saved me I was so scared I thought I was gunna die".
The woman looked at me with tears in her eyes and smiled as she said "Thank you so much, what could I ever do to repay you?"
I smiled and then said "Could I somehow keep in contact with little James?"
"Of course!" she said happily and then began to quickly write down her number on a piece of paper. When she was done she handed it to me.
I knelt down in front of James and said in a motherly tone "Now listen here James don't ever stray away from your momma, you're lucky that I was the one who found you. There are people out there that are bad guys who'll want to hurt you and your momma so never stray away from her again okay, ever".
He nodded and then said with a smile "When I grow up I'm gunna be a strong cowboy like you".
I couldn't help laughing so I gave him a hug and said "You sure will little man".
I stood up and his mother was looking at me curiously. She then asked, "Are you American?"
I nodded and said in a strong southern accent which wasn't my actual one "Yes ma'am."
She smiled, "Could we please have a picture with you?"
I smiled from ear to ear, "Of course".
She gave a person the camera, I put James on my back, and we all smiled for the picture. When the picture was taken and I placed James back onto the ground, she extended her hand towards me, "I'm Linda Harries".
I extended mine towards her with a smile, "I'm Cielo Tierra, would you like my number?"
She nodded and I gave her my number. Sadly we had to part ways and so we did. I found Jasmine flirting with some guy and then we were back in our room.
My cellphone rang and I picked it up with a "Yellow?"
I recognized the voice as it spoke "Hi Cielo it's Linda".
"Hey there".
"I just wanted to ask you if you'd like to come to my wedding as one of my bride's maids".
I was speechless, "Of course! I'd love to!"
"Perfect! Would it be okay if you accompanied one of my cousins?"
"If that's what you'd like then definitely, but I don't have anything to wear".
She laughed, "Don't worry I have an extra dress and we'll just adjust it to your size".
"Okay then".
"So I'll see you tomorrow if you're free to get the dress fit".
"Oh! Would it be okay if I brought my friend to the wedding with me? She loves these sort of things".
"Of course".
"So I'll see you tomorrow".
"Text me your address so that I can get you a ride".
"Mk, bye bride to be". I hung up and sent her the hotel's address.
Jasmine walked out of the bathroom with steam all around her, a towel wrapped around her body, and another around her head with a raised eyebrow, "Who were you talking to?"
I smiled brightly at her, "My new friend and we're going to her wedding, I'm going to be one of her bride's maids and tomorrow I'm getting my dress fit".
Jasmine did her fangirling thing and I just laughed at her. Maybe England's not as bad as I thought. We got prepped for bed and before I knew it it was already morning. I showered, got dressed, and looked at my phone. There was a text message from Linda, it read "The guy that you're going to accompany is going to pick you up and hang with you a bit before the dress fitting, so that it won't be that awkward for you guys to walk into the church together".
After I explained to Jasmine how I met Linda there was a call from the reception. They said that there was a guy down there waiting for me. I took the elevator and when I walked into the lobby I asked where the guy was. The receptionist called out to him and we both looked at each other in shock. It was Finn.
He looked at me with wide eyes, "You're Miss Tierra?"
I nodded and then raised an eyebrow, "You're the cousin that Linda wants me to accompany?"
He nodded and then let out a deep sigh, "I should've guessed when she said that you were American". He motioned me over to the door, "Come on I'll buy you breakfast".
