Troye mentally groaned as he walked into the back of the doctor's office. He got the same nurse as last time and he wasn't in love with that fact. Mostly because he hated that the nurse called his baby an 'it'. They were not an 'it'.

"Hi Troye, how have you been feeling" the nurse, Joey, asked

"Um good, still getting sick but other than that I'm good" Troye said "I've also been really tired all the time and sometimes I feel dizzy"

"Thats all actually completely normal, when you are pregnant your blood vessels dilate and your blood pressure drops which causes lightheadedness. It only becomes a problem if you are having severe abdominal pain also. And the fatigue is part of the package unfortunately, but later on you are going to feel energized" Joey explained

"Anything else you are experiencing" Joey asked "heart burn, constipation, emotional turmoil, food cravings"

"Um food cravings for sure...pop tarts are the shit right now also popcorn makes me want to puke" Troye said "and I guess now that you mention it I've been really emotional lately, I cry a lot"

"yeah all of those things are natural and is a sign that you are taking your meds properly and that the baby is growing, it takes a lot from you and makes you feel out of whack but it's gonna be cute come 6 more months" Joey said and Troye nodded trying to ignore the fact that, yet again this bimbo called his baby an it.

"Alright now the fun part, lets take a listen" Joey said motioning for Troye to lean back on the angled table

"Also as we get closer to the ending of you're first trimester, you only have a month left of it, I am supposed to tell you a few things to keep in mind and start doing" Joey said as he set up the machine "this is going to be cold" he said squeezing the jelly on Troye's belly

"First off, let me just start with something easy...I'm the nurse assigned to you're file so we are going to be getting very familiar, so I want to make you that you are comfortable with me and feel like you can tell me whats going on. Especially any questions or concerns you are having. Next some of these conversations are awkward, I get that...but just try to keep in mind that its just between us and I'm not going to judge you or whatever" Joey said whilst rubbing the wand around the silky surface of Troye's stomach.

"Okay" Troye said

"okay so before I say anything else and make things weird...do you have anything you want to say, any questions or concerns about me or anything we are doing" Joey asked

"Um...no" Troye paused "Its just...when you um talk about the baby can you not call them an it...like use they or them instead"

"Oh my of course, I'm sorry some times parents prefer it one way or the other" Joey said with a smile "oh speaking of them, here is their heartbeat"

Troye smiled as he heard the light thumping coming out of the computer, he could already feel the tears building in his eyes. "I'm sorry" Troye giggled wiping the tears away

"no its fine" Joey smiled reaching under the cart that the computer was on to grab Troye a tissue. Joey printed off the digital image of the sound waves and handed the sheet to Troye. Joey wiped the gel away and Troye moved to sitting up again.

"Okay so, at this point there are a few things that are important. At this point its key that you are eating correctly, you should cut out caffeine and avoid raw fish in any way, I'm going to give you a print off of everything for food information. Also you should start thinking about names for boys and girls and see how you feel about them because you want to be sure and test out how you like them, also have sex, if you want to of course...its good for you and the baby and hell its fun. Also you should start thinking about whether or not you want to try nursing once the baby is born. Lastly you should start telling people that you are pregnant, I don't know if you have already but a you are going to start showing a little more now and you want to be the one to tell people." Joey said "most importantly you want to tell your boss"
