*the following day*
The doctors appointment went smoothy, nothing out of the ordinary for Troye's usual feedback. Joey talked about how Troye was going to get more and more aches as the due date arrived. Troye also told him about the dreams he'd been having and Joey explained that it was normal to have weird dreams towards the end of pregnancy.
Joey gave him another printed picture of the baby and Troye looked closely, still unable to tell 'baby ' from 'empty space'. He couldn't wait for her to come, he wanted her right now, at least until he thought about the logistics of the situation. He definitely needed these last couple months to be totally ready.
He hurried out of the doctors office in hopes go getting back to his apartment before Tyler left. Tyler ended up sleeping over and instead of waking him Troye just snuck out to go to the doctors in the morning.
Troye unlocked the door, pushing it open only to met with the silence of his own apartment. In the back of his mind he was hoping that it was because Tyler was still sleeping soundly but he also knew that it was almost impossible for that to be true. It was just passing 10am and Tyler never slept late unless there was a good reason, like jet lag.
Troye walked into his bedroom and his theory was confirmed. Tyler was gone and his bed was nicely made, all the sheets tucked in and the duvet smooth over the surface. He sighed, he was secretly hoping that Tyler would still be here. Troye turned the light back on and walked across the hall to the baby's room. The light was being filtered through the curtains so the room was still dim.
He moved to sit on the rocking chair, stopping to pick up a note before sitting down.
Troyeboy,
I knew you would come in here once you noticed I was gone. I had to run back to my apartment to edit a video and get ready for tonights dinner. I hope you're excited because I sure am. I'll be picking you up around 6 and we are just going to go to a nice restaurant and back to watch a movie on the couch. I'm really proud of you Troye, I know your scared but you are doing an amazing job. This little girl is going to be very lucky to have you.
I'll see you later tonight, relax until then and be careful. Love you!
-Tilly
Troye smiled, fiddling the note in-between his fingers with a butterflies swarming in his stomach. He blushed the more he thought about it. He placed his hands over his stomach and giggled. What was happening, he lifted on hand away to cover his face, unable to wipe the huge smile off his face.
He settled his hands back down on his stomach and sighed. He had eight hours to kill before Tyler came. What was he supposed to do with all this time? His train of thought was broken when he felt a thump against his hand. He pulled them away and looked down. She was kicking him.
He placed his hand down again, an soon after felt another thump. He moved his hand to the side and was again met with another light thump. He kept his hand there and she kicked his hand again. Troye giggled, she didn't like him touching his belly for long periods of time.
Troye texted Joey in excitement, it was trilling being able to feel his baby move. Joey replied in an instant, telling Troye that it was the baby saying hi. Joey said that she knew that it was Troye's hands and that was her acknowledging him. Troye giggled, whenever she moved it was a reminder that he was growing a little life.
