"Taylor get down here now!" The sound of a male calling me from downstairs had me rolling my eyes. As much as I didn't want to move, I still headed downstairs after shutting off my laptop.

I found the person shouting me from downstairs, John, sat in a recliner chair watching some sort of documentary. Weirdo. He hadn't notice me yet, so I stood in front of the tv, blocking his view of whatever he was watching.

"What'd you want John? I was perfectly happy before you decided to ruin the moment." I stared at him with a blank expression and he glared back at me.

Neither of us broke eye contact until my aunt Rosie came in from the kitchen. She stood in front of me with her hands on her hips looking displeased.

"Taylor, watch your tone and language. John is your elder and you should be thankful that he is giving you a place to stay. He could've made you live on the streets if he wanted."

Despite the fact that Rosie was my aunt from my mum's side, she really didn't like me that much. Rosie believed that ever since moving here to live with them both, I'd been nothing but trouble and had invaded their privacy.

Isn't that what family is for though? To take you in when you have no one else?

"Yeah, I just bet that you wish I was out on the streets as well. The only reason you're letting me stay here is because my mum was your sister." I shot back. I saw the look of shock on her face before she tried masking it with anger.

"How dare you speak like that to me, I-"

"I can speak to you however I want," I cut her off. "Ever since I came here none of you have actually looked after and cared for me." They could deny it all they wanted, but we all knew I was speaking the truth. I had to buy and make my own food, wash my own clothes, and pay for everything I needed.

"That's probably because you've been kicked out of all the schools we've sent you to. You're constantly going out to parties and you've been arrested more times than I can count!" She shouted.

I couldn't help the small grin that made its way on to my face when I heard what she said.

"Hey, it's not my fault I got kicked out of all my schools. The guys would always start the fights first and you know it. They get a little slap on the wrist but I get expelled for putting a guy into a hospital."

"That's exactly my point!" Rosie threw her arms into the air in frustration.

"You always turn to violence. You never talk the situation out."

"Are you serious?!" My calm resolve had disappeared now and I couldn't help but shout towards her. "Talking solves nothing. But how would you know that? You've always been the stick in the mud and always will be."

"That's because your mum was a bitch, just like you, so I had to-"

I cut her off by taking my gun out from the waistband of my jeans and pointing it at her. John stood up but I turned towards him and he stopped dead in his tracks.

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot both of them for ever saying anything about my mum.

"Sit down." I ordered him, and he listened, probably scared for his life, which he should be.

I turned back to Rosie and she had a look of pure fear on her face. Without moving the gun, I stared at Rosie.

"Look, this is the only time I'll say this. I am sick and tried of you and John acting like you don't give a shit about me. So I'm not gonna stay here and take it anymore. I'm packing tonight and I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon. I'm going back to LA to live with Aiden. I dont care what you have to say about it, I'm going."

I walked out of the room up to mine, leaving behind a very scared Rosie and John.

Some sounds felt pleasurable to listen to. They hit the right spot in your brain and filled you with peace.

Some sounds did the exact opposite: they scratched the part in your brain that felt akin to scratching a fork across a plate. It had you taking in deep breaths in order to control the urge to rip it apart.

That's exactly the urge I was forcing back as a male voice called me downstairs. As much as I didn't want to move, I shut my laptop off and headed down.
