Taylor's POV

I rolled over in bed and tried to pull myself closer to Jace, but failed. My eyes snapped open to reveal empty air next to me, with the other side of the bed perfectly made.

I knew it. I knew Jace coming out of the hospital last night wasn't true. I knew that some day I'd have to face reality.

I threw the covers off me and took a quick shower. It was quite cold today, so I changed into a pair of sweats, a cream hoodie that said 'What I Say Goes' and some fluffy socks and went down to breakfast.

The boys were all eating in silence, looking at each other from time to time which was kinda weird because I was used to coming down to their usual loudness. It just felt weird today.

I made myself some cereal and sat down, not saying anything to any of the boys. The first one to break the silence was the twins.

"so Taylor......"

"how'd you sleep last night?"

"it was alright." I shrugged. I didn't want to tell them about what happened to Jace because I didn't want them to think I wasn't all right in the head.

They just shrugged and went back to eating, but I saw the others occasionally glance at me, but I'd carry on eating my breakfast.

After breakfast, I thought about asking them about Jace, just to see if he really was out of the hospital.

"hey guys. Do you think we can go visit Jace today. I just feel like we haven't been in ages." The boys all started looking at Aiden then at me, and I was getting impatient waiting for an answer.

"we can't go." Aiden finally answered. "the doctors told us that his condition has gotten worse and he's fallen into a deeper coma. They said that it'd be best for him right now if he had no visitors." I threw my head back and groaned. This was just great. This proves that I was going mad last night, and Jace has gotten even worse and I've not been going to visit and now I can't go to see him.

"I'm going for a walk." I said, grabbing my leather jacket and putting my converses on before heading out the back door and into the woods.

Walking through the woods, I felt as if it's been forever since I last came, when it's only been two weeks. Okay, I guess that is kinda a long time. I didn't know where I was going, but it seems as though my feet had a mind of their own as they lead the way.

When I stopped, I found myself standing in front of the lake, and went to sit down next to it. I sat with my knees bent and my arms wrapped around them with my chin resting on my knees, and just stared at the lake. It may seem boring, but it gave me a sense of peace and quiet, and it got me thinking about a few things.

Jace admitted he was a werewolf, but he never said anything about me being his mate or whatever. I was still confused over this whole mate thing. What was a mate to a werewolf and how come I was picked to be Jace's mate. I still hadn't told any of the boys yet, and I didn't want to until I had sorted everything out.

But what about last night? I'm pretty sure that Jace lying with me was more then just a dream. And he said that the boys wanted to surprise me with Jace coming home, but when I went down this morning, none of them were asking me about any surprises, and they didn't say anything about giving me a surprises like they had been the past couple of days.

I let out a long breath, and rested my forehead on my knees. I heard some rustling from the bushes, but right now I didn't care if someone or something was about to come get me.

I felt a presence, but I kept my head down, not bothering to look up. The only thing that did make me look up, was the soft nudge on my arm. I lifted my head from my knees to see an all too familiar wolf stood next to me. A smile crept onto my face, and I reached my hand out to stroke his fur, but I couldn't reach from my position, so he layed down next to me.
