Last thing Hiccup remembered was being shot with an iceberg by the alpha of dragons himself, the Bewilderbeast. At the last second his best friend, Toothless, wrapped himself around the viking practically sacrificing himself to save Hiccup's life. Hiccup would've cried if he could.

He heard noises, like something was being moved. His eyes were closed shut, or was it just that dark? There was the possibility of him losing his sight.

He felt warmth start to spread but numbness filled him. A light that was too bright even with his eyes shut shown through the darkness. Then, voices were heard. Everything went black again.

~.~.~

Hiccup never felt so weak before. He thought he was at his weakest point when he first woke up but that was an overstatement. Now, he could feel the hunger pains, his dry throat, and his weak muscles but he couldn't do a thing about it. He couldn't even open his eyes.

He knew voices enter the room. Two voices; one was calm and collected while the other was frantic and unsure it seems. He knew one thing for sure.

He couldn't understand a single word they said.

It sounded very similar to the language he was used to but it was altered in some way. The accents were different as well. It wasn't tough sounding like he was used to hearing.

"We discovered the patient is over a thousand years old, in the viking age to be exact, male, and-"

"I know about the basics, Matthew. What I need to know is about the patient's health report."

"Uh, yes, Doctor [Last Name], the patient hasn't showed any signs of improvement but he doesn't show any sign of getting worse."

There was a breath taken. "Tell me something I don't know."

There were some things he could catch like the names of the people that were talking around him. He caught the frantic to be "Matthew" and the calm to be "[Last Name]" although it didn't sound like it could be a real name, like a last name or something. Whoever she was, her voice was soothing in his semi-panic state.

"Maybe because he doesn't show any sign of improvement is because he doesn't need any medical treatment. There's a possibility that he's completely healthy. He might just need the basic necessities, food and water."

"How is that possible? He shouldn't even be alive in the first place."

"Science proved that an average human being lives up eighty to ninety years. We're talking about a viking that was frozen for over a thousand years and still intact. It's impossible, but I'm starting to think twice about what I believe in now. Not only did we find a living and breathing viking, we found a breathing dragon. A dragon that was supposed to fantasy bedtime story that puts children to sleep at night. I'm excited but afraid to look into the dragon for research."

"Doctor [Last Name], do you think he's the missing viking at sea we got from the descriptors?"

"I don't think he's Hiccup Horrendous Handdock III, because I know he is."

Hiccup heard his name and he had enough. These people knew about himself and he didn't know anything of his situation. He couldn't even see. He started to move his arm a bit in panic and that got their attention.

"Did you see that? He heard us! I knew it. He's going to wake up and kill us!"

"Calm down, his heart meter doesn't show any signs of increase heartbeats. He isn't waking up anytime soon, although..." Hiccup heard silence before [Last Name] talked again. "His brain waves has changed a bit of pattern. He might be listening."
