After the little visit from Hiccup, Ryker seemed to be in more of a foul mood than he already was. He was yanking your chain the whole way back to your prison cell which you were sure would leave bigger bruises than what was there already. When he opened the cell door, he threw you so hard that you hit the back wall of your cell. You were winded from the hard impact and bounced to the floor landing on your side. You coughed to catch your breath as Ryker spoke.

"If it wasn't for my brother, you would have been long gone," he said before he spat in your face. The slime from his mouth made you turn your head down in disgust. You closed your eyes trying to concentrate on regulating your breathing. You knew what he was doing. He was putting you in your place from the relit hope Hiccup has given you. The way you acted even with a weapon to your throat showed him that.

He closed your cell door and walked away. The sounds of your hard breathing and his heavy steps were the only things you could hear as you laid on the floor.

Later that night, you woke up in your makeshift bed to the loud sound of the cell door opening. Viggo stood in front of you with the two guards that were usually on watch. His hands were behind his back as his chest was pushed out and his chin held high in authority like it usually was. His gaze wasn't the same though. He usually held a similar stern expression to Ryker, only Viggo was less malice, but today, it seemed to be just a mask. One you would never see on Viggo.

"Leave us," he commanded.

The guards nodded in respect and obliged to his demand. The guards closed the cell door behind them and walked away. Their fading footsteps were the only noises that echoed in the room. You raised an eyebrow slightly as you waited for any signal from Viggo. He held out his hand that held a cloth wrapped around a block of ice.

"For your bruises," he implied while he dropped it next to you. He pulled out a key from his pocket and unlocked the restraints around your wrists. Once the metal was released from you, you rubbed them while inspecting for any marks. Viggo moved to the opposite side of the room where a chair stood and sat on it. His elbows rested on the arms as he folded his hands in front of him.

"I wasn't expecting a visit," you grumbled as you took the block of ice on your shoulder. The cold stinging sensation made you breathe holding in your hissing and it reminded you of home.

"From me or our little rider," he questioned calmly. You didn't answer as he caught you off guard. He continued when he saw you did nothing to reply, "I see the visit from Hiccup has reawakened you."

"What do you want?" you interrupted. Mentioning Hiccup's name caused you to be defensive. You weren't expecting the snippy comment to come out of you like that. Of all times, you were mentally unwell to deal with insults of Hiccup.

Viggo was silent, hesitant even. This grabbed your attention as you knew Viggo being a genius and you would think he would use your current sensitivity, but he didn't. "I'm thinking of setting you free," he answered.

"What," you uttered, "why?" You were even more caught off guard by what he said but you bounced back to a stoic facade waiting for the catch.

"You could say I've come to an enlightenment," he answered.

"I'm not buying it," you growled. He was tricking you, you told yourself. He was trying to get your hopes up only to stomp it back down, you told yourself.

"I understand why you wouldn't believe me," he justified, "I wouldn't either, but let's just say my brother has been a bit rebellious lately."

"Is he not always?" you snapped back.

"Unfortunately, he completely out of my control lately and I'm afraid he's raising my men against me."

You stayed silent again, waiting for him to continue. You didn't know what to think of the information you were just given. Was it a lie or the truth? But it would explain the rise of altercations that has been happening between the brothers lately. "What's the catch?" you inquired.

"We can't escape right away," he answered as he tapped two fingers together in thought, "we would need to work up to it."

"'We,'" you asked.

"I'm going to escape with you."

That was the catch? It almost seemed too good to be true. "What is really going on, Viggo? Why is someone who is in charge of the dragon hunters running away from his own group?" you wondered with the sternness building back up in your voice as you took the ice block off your shoulder and laid it on your wrist.

"Do you know why we hunt, [Name]?" he asked but continued, "A lot of Vikings do it for the game, but we do it because of trade. We trade dragons and the more rare they are, the higher the bid. Ryker has been confusing the two recently and angered our most important customer."

"And before all of it backlashes on you, you want to escape with one of your prisoners," you finished for him, "which is why I'm still wondering why I have anything to do with this. Why not just leave me behind for your brother to decide my fate?"

"Because the whole intention of capturing you was for blackmail," he answered swiftly, "not for added casualties. I don't kill people."

You processed the information he gave you. The worst case scenario if you went along with him was dying but if you stayed here, you were sure you would rot to death if Ryker didn't decide to cut off your head. Seeing no way out of the situation, you sighed, "What's the plan?"

He adjusted himself to be leaning over as his arms collapsed to the arm rests. He smirked at your compliance as he said, "We'll need to train you first. I'm sure your muscles need a good exercise after not using them for so long."
