*Jewel in pic above That morning Terrel was sitting on the bed, slumped over, flipping through channels. I put on my pantsuit."I need someone to manage the company and it can't be me cause this is my last day before I go on my maternity break," I said.
"I'll have the vice president manage it I don't think I want to start working after last night," he sighed.
"Alright well I'll tell her when I get there," I smiled. "Wait can you go to the news I need to check the weather."
"Yea sure," he turned to the news.
"Breaking news our big company Banks Law and Buissness had caught on fire," a news reporter said
"This was no accident although I can't give it any details I want to let everyone know that everyone's gotten out safely and some are in critical condition but are being treated," the chief said.
"Actually I will go with you I'll meet you outside," he cleared his throat. I walked outside and started walking to the company. Terrel ran up beside me and power walked to the company. We catched a cab and rode the rest of the way. Terrel ran under the yellow police tape and ran to the chief. I followed behind him.
"What happened," he asked.
"We don't know we've just got the fire to die down," the chief answered. Terrel nodded. "We're going to investigate the scene for now tie going to be out of the job for a few months."
"What do you mean a few months I have a child on the way in a few months I need to provide in a few months you should be the one out of the job for a few months," Terrel snapped.
I pulled him back. "You can work at Jewel's gym for now," I suggested.
"I will need the money," he sighed. We drove back to Jewel's house in a cab. She sat there working on her laptop. She looked at us. "I'm sorry about the fire," she said.
"It's ok. Could Terrel work with you for a few months," I asked.
"I mean I'd have to go through a huge process but once I have a calm little interview with him I'll consider it," she replied.
"Ok well can I take a little of your time now," Terrel asked.
"Sure I wasn't really doing anything," she smiled. I sat in the living room. I went to check the mail. There was a huge yellow envelope mailed to me. I walked inside.
"And you have the perfect body," Jewel smiled."But look at those abs."
"Um I have the mail," I said.
"Just sit it down on the counter oh and could you pick up the kids for me," she asked.
"I'm pregnant. Go get your own kids," I laughed.
"Alright we'll continue this later," Jewel told Terrel.
She grabbed her keys and left. I opened the yellow envelope inside it was a bunch of black and white photos of me. I showed Terrel. Glass shattered outside. We ran outside. Jewel's car window was smashed. She had went in another car.
"She is going to be so mad," I said. Jewel pulled in with her kids. She got out and looked at her window. I looked at her. Her oldest daughter Sonya laughed. "You know what's funny young lady," Jewel said.
"What mom," Sonya said with an attitude.
"Your not going to that party tonight your grounded," she spat.
"That is real unfair dawg," Sonya rolled her eyes.
"And you gone fix that language of yours what do you think your dad would say if he was here."
"He'd say one day your gonna cheat on your b****-a** husband like I did yo b****-a** mama," Sonya retorted.
"What did you just say."
"Nothing I'm going to my room," Sonya rolled her eyes.
Jewel's two young daughters Danielle and Shante started crying. Jewel hugged them and whispered something to them. They nodded and walked in the house still crying a little. "Did you get the twins from daycare," I asked.
"I almost forgot," Jewel said jumping back in her car. I nodded and walked back inside. I sat on the bed in the basement. I laid there flipping through my magazine. Sonya walked in the room.
"Sonya why'd you just disrespect your mom like that," I asked.
"No reason. I have something to do love you auntie,"she left grabbing her purse. I walked up to her but she had already left. Jewel came in holding the twins Ty and Zach. They were both 1. Danielle and Shante looked at both boys.
