Rosie

Feeling unusually happy on a Monday should've been the second sign that I'm starting to go crazy. The first sign was me being literally glad to go to school. Crazy right? I blame Jake for this. Since we went to that carnival last Friday, I couldn't stop thinking of it on the weekend. And that stuffed Dragonite he got me, which I named Drogo (and yes it reminds me of khal drogo from the Game of Thrones), is a constant reminder.

I don't usually do this. I, Rosie Jackson, is not the type to fuss over a guy. No matter how nice, attractive, and undeniably handsome he is. An arrogant prick on one side but nice enough to make me forget about my problems and kinda hot. Rosie stop! You're doing it again.

Internally groaning at my happy but weird mood, I tried to focus on what Mr. Anderson is babbling about but failing miserably since my brain refuses to absorb math formulas. Stupid teenage hormones.

Then again, maybe I'm this happy because my weekend wasn't a complete mess. Mom was actually around which resulted the jerk face acting decent. The two days with mom was nice since we got to catch up on a lot of things. It was more than nice.

But my peaceful family thoughts was interrupted by Jake. Again. Also the fact that he's sitting next to me is not helping. Apparently, he made a note to sit down next to me in every class we have together. Sure a part of me is okay with it because well with a face like that who would refuse but like I said, I found his proximity rather distracting.

I stole glances at him from time to time. He was in his usual attire, black everything, that made his blue eyes stood out even more. My eyes lingered on his posture, leaning back on his chair, he twirled his pen with his fingers and didn't even bother to take notes.

"Done staring?" He whispered, slightly leaning towards my seat.

I felt my cheeks going red. Great job Rosie. "I-I wasn't..staring." I tried to sound convincing and salvage whatever's left of my dignity. Obviously I wasn't doing a good job and my stuttering made me cringe inwardly.

"There's no need to be embarrassed, I know you can't resist my good looks." He winked with his signature smirk that I want to slap off his face so bad.

"Speak for yourself." I scoffed.

"It's not nice to lie."

"I'm not lying!" Technically I was but I'm not going to tell him that.

"Then admit it, you were staring."

I was ready to give my best comeback but I didn't get a word out when Mr. Anderson's booming voice interrupted. "Ms. Jackson! Mr. North! I would appreciate if the both of you pay attention to class."

There was a few students who were snickering, proving that the teacher was not the only one who noticed our little disagreement. We both mumbled our apologies and I sank into my seat but not before I catch Jake smugly smiling at me.

Forget about me being happy because of him.

"What are you scowling about?" Lexi asked as she sat in front of me at lunch. It's a miracle that Jake and Noah wasn't here. Yet.

When the bell ringed signaling that math class was over, I bolted out so fast that The Flash would feel highly offended. I couldn't look at him in the eye after what happened. He caught me staring! I don't stare at people!
