Rosie
It turns out that Mr.Goomer still teaches biology and unfortunately he is still gloomy like the last time I saw him. So my morning was basically perfect. Not.
It was lunchtime and I decided not be such a loner and sat with Lexi.
"Hey, six o'clock, mysterious hottie looking at you." Lexi whispered.
Furrowing my eyebrows, I stared at her like she was an alien. She rolled her eyes and motioned her head towards this so called "mysterious hottie". I twist my body around and saw the same boy that I met at the hallway this morning. He was indeed staring at me but then he caught my gaze and turned away, not immediately though.
Okay that was weird. I turned back around only to see Lexi smirking at me.
"What?"
"He likes you."
"Seriously, Lexi?"
"Seriously." She smiled mischievously. "It's not that surprising anyways." She adds.
"What are you talking about?" Now I'm really confused.
"Are you really that ignorant? Half of the guys in the school wants to date you."
"Why would they want that?" I asked.
I mean I've been a total wreck since sophomore year, not to mention my depression case. Why would anyone want to date me? There are plenty of girls here that are more 'date-able' than me.
"Well, some of them say you're hot and some says you're attractive and they're very determined to be the one that 'makes you happy again'." She empathized.
Makes me happy again? What kind of bullcrap is that?
"Yeah, whatever."
"Don't say I didn't tell you."
I couldn't handle talking about dates and boyfriends and relationships, so I changed the subject. We mostly talked about random subjects but it always nice to talk weird stuff with my best friend.

I sat on my usual seat beside the window on history class, my last class of the day. I was looking out the window while waiting the teacher to come in. History is not my favorite subject but I don't hate either. I only enjoyed it because some of the stories on history class is really mesmerizing and inspiring to me. Mrs.Hill who teaches history is also one of the reasons I enjoy this class, she's a really nice person.
"So, we meet again."
I turned my head towards the voice and I saw the same guy this morning at the hallway. He gave me a small smile while taking the seat next to mine.
"Are you new here?" I blurted out.
That's a stupid question Rosie. You clearly know that he's new since you haven't seen him until this morning.
Sometimes I hate my brain.
"Yeah, I just moved in town a week ago." He said, confirming my prediction.
"What made you move here? If you don't mind me asking." I was a bit shocked because I'm actually trying to have a decent conversation with a living breathing person.
He shrugged "Not sure, I'm just following my parents."
I nodded. Not knowing what to say next, I turned my attention down to my desk.
"I never caught you name."
"That's because I never told you." Giving him a teasing smile. Well this is new.
He chuckled "True. So what's your name?"
"Why should I tell you my name?" what the hell is up with me today?
"I just want to know."
I stare at him in the eyes a few seconds and before I continue, let me tell y'all something. His eyes are the most gorgeous eyes I've ever looked at.
"Rosie."
"Lovely name for a lovely girl." He smirked.
Usually I would just sit there and let myself blush to my embarrassment. I do have to admit I did blush a bit but I have this weird boost of confidence so I came up with a come back.
"Shouldn't I get a name for a name?"
"Why would you want that?"
"Well, I just want to know." I smiled at him sweetly, throwing his words back.
"Well played."
He was silent for a moment before he speaks again.
"Jake." He simply said.
Just then Mrs. Hill walked in and began the lesson ending our conversation.
Half of the time I found myself glancing at him from time to time. Why? I'm not sure. He didn't notice me looking at him since he was practically sucked into history class. That made me curious because he didn't look like the type of guy that would pay attention in class, in fact he looked like a bad boy with the black shirt, dark colored jeans, and dark everything. His black hair and strong features didn't help either.
"Alright listen up!" Mrs. Hill announced bringing me out of my daydream. "I know this is the first day of senior year, but I will be giving you a project to work on."
The whole class groaned, including me. I like Mrs. Hill, she's an awesome teacher but who the hell gives an assignment on the first day of school?!
"Enough! This project will affect half of your final score this semester. So if you do not want to fail this class don't fail on the project."
That shut everyone up. Failing on history class is not cool.
"You will present a part of American history that I will give you later. You can present it using a PowerPoint or anyway you like. You will work in pairs. This project is due in four weeks. So I'm hoping you'll do your best. Now for the pairs."
Mrs. Hill started to read names that will have to work together on this project. There are only a few people left before I heard my name being called.
"Rosie Jackson you'll be working with Jake North."
Jake North? Who the hell is that? I'm absolutely sure that I don't know anyone with that name. The only person I know with the name Jake is- No way. I turned my head towards Jake who I just met this morning.
"You don't suppose your name is Jake North do you?" I asked.
He didn't say anything, as the matter of fact he just smirked. After a few moments he looked at me and said,
"It's a pleasure to be working with you Rosie Jackson."
