Awakening Vengeance

Chapter 12

The teens managed to get to Sandgem town, with the help of a nice trainer willing to fly them there. Sandgem town was very small, only had the Professors Lab and few residents.

The teens entered the professors lab, their wasn't much around, pretty desolate too. The professor wasn't in the lab, just two other people, assuming they're the professors assistants. "Uh, excuse me" Cole attempted to get one of the assistants attention, the assistant turned to the male, "y-yes?" the assistant looked, "Do you know where the professor is?" Cole asked;

"O-Oh, well, He's meeting up with the trainers who are starting their pokemon adventure today, are you one of those trainers?" the assistant adjusted his glasses, "Well, I'm not but she is" Cole motioned to Blake, the assistant gazed at her. "Hm, alright, I guess you can wait here until he gets back" The assistant went back to his work, "Don't worry! We won't" Cole reassured and walked around the lab.

Blake decided to sit on the floor next to a box, she didn't want to invade their privacy, who knows what top secret stuff are within this lab. Cole sat next to her, clicking his shoes together in a rhythmic tone. "So, you excited?" Cole turned his gaze to the female. There was a long silence, "Not really, I'm more scared than excited" Blake mumbled on, "you don't know what's gonna be waiting for us once we begin, it could be heartwarming or heart wrenching, either way once its over your completely a different person, and that's scary. I've seen it with my own eyes, how a simple journey for collecting gym badges, defeating the Elite Four, becoming champion can do to people. It either improves the person or destroys them. That's not something I want."

Cole was left speechless, he never thought of it like that. What happened to her to make her feel this way? She isn't wrong, this left Cole in question.

Convinently the professor entered, with three trainers following along. The teens got up from the floor and followed the professor to the back of the lab.

The professor noticed the two, "You must be the other ones who were waiting" The professor continued on, "Well I should introduce myself properly, I am Professor Rowan. I research and study pokemon and now they evolve. I've already gave two of the starters to Lucas and Barry, one of you can have the remaining starter" Rowan opened the briefcase, revealing where the three starters once laid, with the final one left.

Blake stepped up, looking at the pokeball, "Do I have to take the pokemon?" Blake looked to Rowan, "You don't want a pokemon?" Rowan looks at her puzzled. "I already have one, well, four" Blake mumbled the last part, "fair enough" Rowan closed up the case, "Dawn, please hand me the pokedexes" The female trainer walked to the table at the end, retrieving the red and black devices, handing them to the Professor.

Professor Rowan handed them to the two trainers and Blake. "This is a Pokedex, it shows you information on pokemon you've caught and seen" Rowan explained, handing out bundles of pokeballs. "I'll give you these go you can start filling up your Pokedex. Well you're all set for your journey, be safe and come see me from time to time so I can check on the progress on your Pokedex."

"Sweet!" the blond trainer squeaked "Lucas! I'll race ya to Jubilife City!" the blond races out the lab, "Barry, why are you like this?" the darker haired trainer sighed and calmly walked out of the lab.

"What interesting Trainers" Cole states, brushing his hair back with a light sigh. "I guess we should head out to Jubilife City" I mentioned, shoving my pokedex in my bag. "I guess so, let's see what pokemon are around, you can probably catch something" Cole assured, walking put of the lab, with Blake following.

~Blake's POV~

We walked into route 202, there wasn't much, but theres usually nothing at starter routes so I cant complain. As we walked past patches of grass I notice a Starly up ahead, I wanna catch it. "Hey Cole, you can go on ahead. I'm gonna catch this Starly" I ordered Cole, "Good luck" Cole sends me a wink and continues through the route.

I grab Kyoko, Cubone's pokeball, I could've sent someone else, but they're more higher leveled; Cubone is the only one here is somewhat on par with their levels. I slowly crept closer to the flying type. Starly soon notices my presence, then jumped to attack me. I quickly sent out Kyoko, he stood before me, ready for a command.

Kyoko attacked first, using headbutt on the flying type, damaging it to almost faint. Starly used wing Attack, slashing its wing at the Cubone, taking away some of Kyoko's health. I pulled out a pokeball from my bag, chucking it at the Starly. Starly was sucked into the pokeball, it shook once, twice, then breaks out. Starly used quick attack, Cubone took the hit, I threw another pokeball, Starly entering the pokeball once more; shook once, twice, click! Starly was caught. I returned Kyoko, I picked up my newly caught Starly, placing my new companion onto my belt with the rest of my pokemon.

I continued down route 202, I didn't see Cole anywhere, I guess he already made it to Jubilife City. I took my time through the route, looking for items people dropped through the route and battling trainers.

Once I got close to Jubilife, I passed by this kid, he didn't seem like he wanted to battle, more like he was in thought. I choose to ignore the kid and continue.

"I know who you are" I hear, who I'm assuming, is the kid behind me. I turn back, the kid is now directly behind me, staring. "I've heard of what you did, I've seen what you did" The kid stepped closer, "What do you mean?" I asked, "I know I may not seem like it, but I know more about your "power" than most people researching on it. I want to help you with your "situation" and help you control it" The kid explained.

"How can I trust you? Do you even know what my "situation" and "power" is?" I wanted to believe this guy, but I cant take risks. "You're a reincarnation of a Legendary Pokemon that destroyed regions. You can mega evolve, but you can't control the power so you end up seeking bloodlust" The kid looked down,"I've seen it myself, not by you, someone else" I grew wide eyed, I knew I wasn't the only one, but how did he know I was one of them? "I just want to help you control your ability and avoid potential destruction." The kid sounded serious, "Hey Kid, I didn't get your name, what is it?" I asked, "Dylan" the kid mumbles, "Glad meeting you Dylan, my names Blake" I exclaimed, "I'll let you join me on my journey" I gave him a warm smile. "Thank you" Dylan returned the smile.

I ruffled his blond mess of hair, then we entered into Jubilife City.

"So, you're telling me, this kid here, is going to join us?" Cole questioned, "Yep, he said he knows these parts well, he can help us around" I explained, "Plus, it's always nice to have another around, ya know, for another say"

Cole just stares at me, then chuckles softly. "Sorry for being rude kid, the names Cole, yours?" he held out his hand to the kid, "Dylan" Dylan grabbed onto Cole's hand, shaking it firmly.

"So, where are we heading to?" Dylan asked. "Oreburgh City" Cole stated, "Well we should get going, so you can defeat the gym" Dylan exclaimed, heading to route 203. Cole and I turn to each other, then looking back at Dylan who was way ahead. This kid is quite serious and strict, hopefully it doesn't get out of hand. Cole is already heading to Dylan, while I stayed still.

"c'mon Blake! Don't get too far back!" Cole's distant voice shouted. I stayed still for a little more, I finally caught up to them. Thankfully they didn't say anything, I didn't realize it before;

Dylan was the one on top of the hill.
