I stared at my computer screen. This can't be right, it has to be a lie. I didn't know what to do with the information I just stumbled upon, so I slammed the computer shut and put my head in my hands, sighing loudly.
I picked up my phone opening the messages app. Josh.
Josh: anytime (;
Josh: So what're you up to?
Josh: maze ?
I was furious.
Me: why did you lie to me.
Josh: lie? what're you talking about?
Me: Seriously? don't play dumb you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Josh: I'm sorry. Please just let me explain. FaceTime ?
Before I could respond my phone started ringing. " Josh would like to FaceTime " I set my phone up against my computer ,clicked the answer button and before he could speak I screamed,
" You're 32!?" I wanted to throw my phone I was so mad. " Look Maze-" I cut him off," How could you lie to me!? I can't believe this!"
" Maisy I -" " Oh my gosh this is insane!" I rambled. " Maisy!" He yelled, trying to get me to pay attention. "I couldn't very well talk to you, ask for your number and just randomly say ' oh by the way I'm 14 years older than you' you would've never given me your number, let alone talk to me!"
I hadn't realized it was so far apart, I knew it was older but wow.... 14 years. " Josh that's so far apart! I can't believe you lied to me" I said sadly, messing with my fingernails.
" I know I'm sorry, it's just I panicked when I realized you were so young." I nodded, kind of getting why he did it.
" I get it I guess, I mean if you told me your age first I probably would've lied about mine," I admitted. He smiled making his eyes smaller than they already were.
" See, you get me" I shook my head " Whatever," I laughed. I guess we're both adults now right? It's okay.... right?
" Sorry about my freak out..." I sighed, rubbing my arm. " It's totally fine, I would've had the same reaction." He said , reassuring me.
" Would you still talk to me ?" I questioned. He nodded really quickly. " Definitely! I wouldn't just stop talking to a beautiful girl like yourself," He said. I smiled and covered my face with my sweater paws.
I put my lip over my top teeth and stuck my tongue out like a lizard," Still beautiful?" I laughed, still with my lips over my teeth.
He laughed, rubbing his nose with his finger, which was very cute, causing me to laugh along with him. " Yes, very beautiful maze" I smiled.
" You smile a lot," He pointed out. " Well you make me smile a lot," not realizing that sounded extremely flirty.
" Oh? Well I guess we'll have to talk more often, seeing as you have a beautiful smile" He said, making me blush like a crazy person.
