9- I need a machine gun

im so sorry I haven't updated in forever. explanation will be at the end

"S-should I call?" I asked Tyler, who was scrolling on his phone. He rose an eyebrow and looked up at me. " You didn't call yet??" He almost yelled at me. " N-no.." I said looking down.

" How long has it been, since the whole waking up with her thing?" He set his phone down and looked at me. " A week" I said. " A week?!" He violently stood up and flicked me in the arm. " ow," I said, even though it didn't actually hurt.

" Dude, you haven't called her in a week? Do you even like her?" He questioned. " Yes! I like her a lot actually," I said. " Well, she's not gonna think that if you don't call." I nodded. I'll do one better.

I climbed the tree by her window. It took a little bit because I fell about twice, but I finally got to the top. I tapped on her window very lightly, earning loud footsteps to come closer to the window. She opened it.

Her sad tired eyes lit up as she saw me, and her lips formed into a great smile. " Josh!" She smiled and pulled me in her room. " Hi!" I smiled and she sat at the foot of her bed.

" Listen I'm sorry I haven't called in a week... I'm not good with this things. I like you its just I didn't wanna be clingy" I sat next to her and she smiled, something I hadn't expected.

" What why are you smiling ?" I asked her. " I thought you had forgotten about me" She played with her hands. " That's crazy! Why would you think that?"

" You're famous and older. Why would you remember some little girl who isn't even anyone?" She messed with the sleeves of her sweater. I sighed and grabbed her hands, making her head shoot up.

" You're not a little girl, stop saying that. And you are somebody... to me." She smiled.

" Just because I'm famous doesn't mean I'll forget about someone like you. Don't think of me as Josh from twenty one pilots. Just think of me as Josh." She nodded and rested her head on my shoulder.

" I missed you." She sighed. I kissed her head. " I've missed you too."

I sit her up and look at her, her eyes specifically. " Have you been crying??" I asked her and she nodded. " Why?" She sighed and began to speak.

" T-there was this article... o-of you and me. Calum saw and told me if Luke found out it would kill him, so I tried to hide it from him. It didn't work. I've been arguing with him for the past well... week,"

" He keeps saying I replaced him and that I cheated. We use to be so close and now, he-he hates me," Tears are now flowing out of her eyes and she's hiccuping. I almost cry looking at her, I never want to see her this broken , ever.

I use my thumb to wipe her eyes and she slightly smiles. " The article spread like wild fire..most of your fans are really sweet. They call me pretty and mom and stuff" She laughed a bit.

I smiled, " they're great aren't they?" I asked and she nodded. " Some of them... others not so much." She showed me the screenshots on her camera roll.

one of them was a meme with a man and a little girl captioned " you mean josh and Maisy?"

I put her phone down and looked at her," usually I could handle this, but I thought you had forgotten about me, so I was getting all this hate for no reason, from your fans... from Luke." She sniffled.

" Like I was such trash that I was getting hate because of someone I was irrelevant to," She cried and I wrapped my arms around her and she cried into my shirt.

" I'm so sorry maze, I really am. But I'm here now, and I'm not going anywhere." She grabbed onto me tighter. " We...we have to keep this a secret... whatever this is." She whispered. " My mom can't find out, she'd never let me see you.. I also can't have Luke getting hate because of me, and I can't, you can't , have it show up when people search your name on Google that you're dating someone half your age," She sniffled, but then immediately sat up.

" I mean not that we're dating or anything, I mean it's just what it looks like, we're not dating but like people will thi-"

I pressed my lips onto hers. " I understand okay? We'll take this one step at a time, we don't need to rush into anything," I smiled at her.

* Maisy*

I just had a panic attack 5 minutes before he showed up and now I'm completely calm. I was on the floor crying and having trouble breathing, and now I feel so safe, and so protected. I liked that feeling, the feeling Josh gave me.

Just seeing him lifted my mood. " Wouldn't you want your mom to know about a new boy in your life though?" He asked me.

" It's better to ask for forgiveness then to ask for permission," I laughed and he nodded, " Very true."

My phone buzzed.

Luke would like to FaceTime...

I sighed and Josh nodded, " I'll hide" He smiled and I swiped to answer. I set my phone up on my computer screen, while Josh sat behind the monitor.

" What?" I said to him. " You can't keep ignoring me, I wanna talk." I nodded and let him speak.

" Look, I talked to Calum and he explained the whole thing to me. I'm sorry I didn't hear you out, it's just kind of hard to see you with someone else. I'm sorry I caused you all this trouble. " He said and a tear rolled down my cheek.

I looked at Josh and he signaled for me to breathe. " It's okay." I said. " I'm here to support you..in all of it. I still want to be there for you." He said to me and I smiled.

" Actually can I ask a favor?" I asked and he nodded, " Anything yeah," He said. " I need a machine gun," Josh's eyes went wide and he made a bubble in his mouth to keep from laughing.

" Maze, stop quoting suicide squad," Luke laughed. " Sorry sorry," I giggled. " But in all seriousness I need a huge favor."

" What is it?" I sighed and began to speak. " I need you to act like we're still dating," I said and Josh almost fell off my bed. " W-what?"

" I'm probably going to see Josh again, and I need a cover for my mom and my friends. You can understand that right?"

" Maze, I don't know if I can-"

" Please?" I pouted. He sighed. " Fine, whatever" He said.

" Thank you!" I smiled. " I gotta go Maze," I nodded. " Oh and Maisy?" I rose an eyebrow. " Yeah?"

" Please don't get hurt," I nodded," I won't,"

He ended the call and Josh sat next to me. " You want to see me again?" He asked. " Eh, you're kinda fun to be around," I smiled and connected our lips. He smiled, " I won't hurt you,"

" I promise."

Hiii ! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in like forever, I've been really busy with band camp. It's very tiring haha. Also my mom tells me to get off my phone all the time and to update I kinda have to be on my phone extensively so.

actually my mom took my phone just now BC I was on it haha. sorry for any spelling mistakes I didn't have time to edit
