I open my eyes only to see the feint light of dawn rising above the landscape. The cold morning air fresh and sweet, with a light breeze. I snuggle closer into Cal to keep warm and he sleepily wraps his arms around me and smiles,

"You cutie," he laughs,

"I'm a bit cold," I say through chattering teeth. He tilts my chin up to his face and puts his lips on mine, making them tingly and warm,

"Better?" He asks,

"Definitely," I smile and just let it keep going. We pull apart and I check the time. 8:46,

"How about we go get breakfast?" Cal offers,

"Sounds good." I jump out and take in the surroundings of trees and hills. The beauty and serenity is just breathtaking. Quicker than I can stop him, Cal has picked me up bridal style and carries me over to my side of the car. He looks down at me and pecks my nose, then gently puts me down to get in the car. I belt up and we're off. I look over at Cal, his gorgeous blue eyes fixated on the road, and where we're going. Every gear change so smooth without a slip. We come to a little town with a few shops and pull out the front of one, 'skate and steak'. We jump out and walk in,

"It's all about skateboarding," I say, admiring the handcrafted boards on the wall, photos of pros and a half pipe at the very back of the cafe,

"Table for two thanks," Cal says,

"Make that four," a whiny voice I recognise says from behind. I turn around and it's Stacey and Evan. What a way to ruin my day,

"We'll have just two thanks," I say to the waitress looking in Evans general direction. We're led to a table and take our seats,

"Sorry Jade, I didn't realise they would be here too," Cal says,

"Not your fault Cal, it's okay," I look around and see that they're being led our way,

"Four, didn't you hear me, Jade?" Stacey says. I breathe in and out trying to keep my cool. I give her a smile and look down at the menu. So much to choose from! I look over at Evan, looking at his menu trying to figure out what's on there. His gorgeous eyes scanning, seeing that his mind is just thinking. He looks up and I quickly look down at my menu,

"What're you gonna get?" Cal asks me. I look up and notice how he's looking at me. Similar to the look Evan used to give me. The one where I knew he was falling for me. I'm so torn between two people. Both who would give me the world at the drop of a hat if I wanted it. Both who I've known for not long but feels like ages. Dangerous, thrilling and adventurous. How do you chose? Breakfast! Right,

"I like the look of the French toast! And a latte for sure. How about yourself?"

"I like the look of that too," he smiles. I look over at the half pipe wanting so bad to go over and have a skate, "wanna have a go?" Cal asks,

"Definitely!"

"Well go on, let's do it together," he stands up and grabs my hand to help me up. I see Evan shift in his seat uncomfortably. Cal grabs a board and hands it to me. We climb to the top of the half pipe and I stand on the edge looking down. The incline is steep but I'll manage. I rest the wheels on the edge and breathe in. As I drop I breathe out and the acceleration is thrilling. Up the other side and back again, gaining more and more momentum. I get back to where Cal is and jump up. He catches me pulling me in, my face hitting his strong chest, and getting a smell of his cologne,

"That was fun!" I say looking up at him, "your turn," I hand him the board he takes it and stands on the edge. He turns around and pulls me in, giving me a kiss. I hear a chair fall backwards and Evan storming towards us. Cal drops in and is halfway down as Evan grabs him and pulls him down to the ground,

"Evan stop!" I scream. I try to get down as quick as I can and slip on the railing falling backwards. My face hits the ground and I feel a sharp pain on the left side of my face. I've got to get to Cal. In a daze I stand up and stumble over to him and pull on Evans top to stop him. I feel a wetness slowly trickling down my face. Evan turns and looks at me and his face drops,

"Oh shit! Jade!" I touch the wetness and realise it's blood. I look at Cal sitting on the ground trying to get himself up. He looks up and bounds towards me,

"Let's get something on this," Evan says,

"No shit," Cal replies,

"Look I'm trying to help and I don't need your shit right now,"

"Well if you hadn't have fucking knocked me off, Jade wouldn't have been so rushed to get down to help me,"

"Well you shouldn't go around kissing your mates girlfriends like that!"

"She's MY girlfriend! Not yours," Cal growls. I pick up two glasses full of water and without thinking throw both of them into both their faces,

"My god you need to calm down you two! Cal I'm not your official girlfriend and Evan we broke up. You have to be with Stacey cause of your career and I can deal with that, but Cal is here for me more than you would be. You gave me the world I know but, I can't have it," I grab a napkin and press it on my face, standing up and walking out of the cafe. Evan follows me out and grabs the sleeve of my jumper, just like the time he did when we met. The time he took me on a new adventure, out of my comfort zone. I look into his eyes, and I can't hold back the tears. They come like the drizzle on a grey winters day where you want the rain to hold off but you know it's not going to,

"Don't go. Please," he begs,

"Evan, I can't do this anymore. It's all to much and it has to stop." I shake his hand off and keep walking. The summer air is warm on my skin, the breeze gently lifting my hair up and down. Its all my fault. I've broken a friendship, and stuffed two relationships. I'm such an idiot. I hear a fast approach of footsteps behind me,

"Jade?" A familiar voice calls. I spin around and recognise Jake straight away,

"Hey," I say wiping my fingers under my eyes to get rid of any mascara or eyeliner smudged from the tears,

"What's going on? You alright?" He asks. Then they start to come again, welling in the bottom of my eyes, "hey hey sweetheart." He pulls me into a hug and I just cry. I can't stop them from coming but they just do. He leads me over to a bench and we sit down, "talk to me what's going on?"

"I've made such a mess Jake! I'm such an idiot. I've ruined things with Evan, broken his heart in two and Cal is just so much to me too. I don't know what to do," I face him and just study his face. So similar to Evans, so perfect,

"What have you done to your eyebrow?" He asks. I touch it and feel that it's scabbed over slightly but not enough, "come on let's get back to my place?" He suggests. Should I really go with my ex's brother? I can't do anymore damage but I need to be fixed up,

"Alright let's go." He grabs my hand to help me up and then places his arm around me, helping me along. It makes me slightly less stressed, like a comfort kind of thing. We reach the car park and Jake opens the door to his commodore and helps me in. I feel my phone ringing in my pocket and it's Cal. I swipe to answer,

"Hello?"

"Jade, I'm right behind you." I spin in the seat and sure enough there's Cal standing with Jake, oh and Evan too.
