I awaken to darkness and freak out,
"Oh my god. What the hell?" I start to panic before my eyes adjust. Where am I? Oh, right, Evan. Wait!? I roll out of the bed and land onto the floor with a massive thud, "ow!" I moan. I stand up and search for my skirt. I find it on the ground, then unzip the pocket and feel around and find my phone. No missed calls or text messages from dad. That makes no sense. Strong arms wrap around my body taking me for surprise and I jump,
"What're you doing darlin'?" He asks,
"How did I end up still here?! It's three thirty in the morning! Why didn't you wake me up?" I say half asleep,
"Uh. Well, you fell asleep in my arms. Pretty cute actually. Earlier today I sent a text to your dad saying you we're staying at a friends place. She said it was fine,"
"You knew this was going to happen?" I say in confusion,
"Well, sorta. I didn't want you to slip through my fingers, I think you're pretty great. It's not everyday you find a girl like yourself. Also I had to make it up to you somehow for doing what I did. So I'm going to give you all you want. I can tell by your body language that your strongly attracted to me anyways,"
"Hmm. You're alright. I'm going back to sleep now," I say smirking. Really, he's bloody amazing. I slip out of the hoodie and fall into the bed followed by a big bear hug from Evan, and just fall asleep chasing into my dreams.
"Jadeee," Evan calls, "Jade? Wake up," I open my eyes and light creeps in blinding me,
"Ahh. Hi Evan," I say in a really sleepy voice,
"Finally! C'mon we have a big day today. I got you clothes to wear out so you don't have to wear your school uniform out," he says. I sit up in bed and double take what he just said,
"What do you mean?"
"I mean we're going out. You seriously think that being with a guy like me means sticking to rules?" A twist of uncertainty rises in my gut. He has that cheeky smile on his face though, the somewhat reassurance we can get away with anything. I grab the two bags he has dropped on my bed. I open the shoe box to reveal a pair of traditional Converse, "what the hell? How'd you get these?" I grab the other bag and pull out a pair of basic black leggings and a loose tee, "why are you doing this for me?" I ask so confused,
"My treat. What do you think?" He runs his hand through his hair making sure it's still on point,
"Thanks, like a lot, but you really didn't have to,"
"Nah, you deserved it. Oh yeah," he throws the grey hoodie and a cute beanie by my feet, "it's a bit cold outside, you'll need these."
I walk into the kitchen and notice the mugs ready for coffee, "toast?" Evan offers,
"Yes please I'm starving!" As the kettle clicks I pour the water into the mugs and grab the milk from the fridge. I place them down on terracotta coasters that are sitting on a glass table in front of the couch. I cup my hands around the mug and sip. So, so good. He places the toast in front of me and brings down a variety of spreads. I smear the vegemite all over my toast and take a giant bite,
"You're gross!" Evan says scrunching up his nose at me. "How can you eat that stuff?"
"It's un-Australian if you don't." Nationally known problems I smile.
As I finish the last bite, the plate is whisked away from underneath me. I wash it down with one last mouthful of coffee and approach the bathroom.
