It was late in the day when Gracie pryed open her eyes. She panicked slightly, seeing herself in the contaiment unit, but once she saw Ozpin asleep above her, she knew she was at Beacon. She struggled to lift her arm and lightly tap the glass window.
The light tap woke Ozpin up and he nearly fell off the small chair. Ozpin looked down at her and smiled slightly, standing up. He went and opened the container, the grin still on his face.
"How do you feel?" he smiled down at her.
"Hurts. Everywhere." She smiled back and reached up for him.
He sighed and gently hugged her, being mindful of her pain. He went to pull away, but Gracie wrapped her arms tighter around him.
"Don't leave me, Dad." she whispered, fear audible in her voice.
Ozpin hugged back tighter, sighing lightly. Gracie let go and looked around before getting out of the container.
"Could you tell me what happened?" he watched carefully as she walked around, getting feeling back in her legs.
"I-I don't remember much, but I do remember this woman and she had some weird glove... But after that, it's all a blur." Gracie shuttered at the memories.
Ozpin wrapped a blanket around her and looked at her scar. He stepped back with realization. Gracie looked at him as he ran down the corridor, going to the elevator.
"Gracie, come with me. Now!" he shouted, nearly there already.
Gracie tried her best to walk to him, stumbling several times. She tripped and fell into the ground, skidding her elbows and knees against the smooth tile. Grimmacing, Gracie stood and looked at Ozpin pleading for his help.
Ozpin turned around and saw his daughter on the ground and in pain. He ran back to her and picked her up. "It'll be alright, my little girl. Daddy's got you."
"Dad?" she muttered, looking up at him. "How long have I been out?"
"Well, a couple of days. You've woken up just in time for a new semester." Ozping looked down at her while stepping into the elevator.
Gracie groaned as the doors closed behind him and he set their destination for the top floor. The ride up was quick and smooth, the doors dinged as they opened, revealing Glynda and a new man Gracie didn't recognize.
"General Ironwood. What is your fleet doing here?" Ozpin questioned, a slight scowl on his face when he saw the ships outside his window.
"A precautious measure. You'll be thanking me later." the man in a white long coat, Ironwood, looked at the girl in Ozpin's arms. "And who is this?"
"The better question is who are you?" Gracie huffed and watched him come closer.
"I am General Ironwood. I protect your life everyday with soldiers fighting Grimm and crime." General Ironwood rambled.
"James." Ozpin looked to his friend. "This is my daughter."
"You have a daughter?" the General looked in confusion.
"Yes, he does. Do you have a problem with that?" Gracie growled at the man.
"Gracie. Quiet." Ozpin set her down and turned to look at her scar again. "James, isn't this scar pattern similar to that of the fall maiden's?"
General Ironwood looked closely at the scar on the girl's face before nodded. "It looks similar, almost like paint was thrown on her face and it stuck there instead of dribbling down."
"You two should stop worrying about the future for now and focus on the present. This young girl is half naked, probably starving, and needs a good rest. After we tend to her needs, we can focus on the meaning of all this. Maybe while said girl isn't here." Glynda's stern voice silenced the two men who looked at the woman.
"You're right, Glyndia. How foolish of me." Ozpin went and grabbed a large t-shirt and a loose fitting pair of shorts for Gracie to wear before sending the girl off.
As the conversation continued above the student's heads, Gracie rejoined her classmates after going back to her room and getting some proper clothes on. After a tackle hug from Ruby and Yang, Gracie was welcomed by lighter hugs from Weiss and Blake along with some of team JNPR.
"Guys, I'm fine. Just hungry." Gracie muttered as she ate some food.
"Well, while you eat, I have some plans to talk to you all about!" Ruby cheerfully pulled out a thick binder and explained her plan for a fun day.
"What the- ?" Gracie's concentration on eating was broken when a plate of spaghetti came flying at her, causing her to have a flashback.
Flashback
"Please, stop..." Gracie pleaded as she was chained to the table, doctor's testing theories and such on her.
"Let's try to test this little toy again, shall we?" a feminine voice came from somewhere in the room.
Gracie looked around, but she could scarcely see objects. A small light cught her attention and she looked as the light spread, illuminating the glove it was originating from. Suddenly, black strands attached to her face and Gracie could feel her aura plummeting. Everything went black.
Flashback End
"Stop!" Gracie closed her eyes, panicked and held her hands up at the plate of food, fearing that recent events were happening again.
Confusion dawned on the girl when she felt nothing hit her. She moved her hands down to see the plate of spaghetti held in midair along with everyone else. They were all frozen in time while she could freely move.
Gracie got out of her seat and looked around in worry. "How can I undo this? What do I do? Am I forever alone?" her breaths became quick as her heartbeat sped up.
"Gracie?!" a voice echoed through the area.
"Hello?" Gracie looked in shock and followed the orgin of the voice.
"Gracie!" the voice came from behind her now.
The young girl turned her head and saw Ozpin rushing towards her. His cane in his hand and he had a bubble like thing around him.
"Dad?" Gracie looked at him before looking around. "What's going on?"
"I was afraid this would happen." Ozpin looked around at the frozen students and sighed.
"What? Afraid what would happen?" Gracie glared slightly at the silvery haired man.
"That those tests would effect your sembalance. It appears you take after me more than your mother." Ozpin smiled a little and looked back at Gracie.
"Well how do I fix it? Then you can explain." Gracie snipped slightly, just in a bad mood now.
"How did this happen?" Ozpin looked at her.
"Well, I was eatting, when someone threw spaghetti and I panicked. I yelled stop and put my hands up. Then poof, time stops except for me and you." Gracie explained.
"Go back to your seat and I will fix this. Once done, come to my office." Ozpin walked away, back in the direction of Beacon Tower while Gracie slowly made her way to her seat.
