The big and cold rock shadowed over my crouched body. My brothers Michael, George, and Jack were playing with mother and Mr. Barrie, as usual. I used to enjoy playing in Kensington Park, when father was alive. He passed away about a year ago.
Mr. Barrie is a man who mother met a couple of days ago. Mother has seen a lot of his plays. I find it kind of silly though... Plays are just a way of pretending things are real. It's like pretending that father never left my side. I never stop thinking about him. Who he was, what he looked like, what he told me. He never did take us fishing.
George approached me and I looked up at him. He had an angry look painted on his face. "Mother asked me to come get you. Get up," he stared blankly at me and let out a sigh. "STOP BEING SUCH A STORM CLOUD," his voice coldly yelled in my face. Frustration moved throughout my body. I wasn't sure how to react. 'Don't let this go, Peter' I told myself. 'Let it go, Peter. It will all work out fine'. Ugh, the voices in my head can be so annoying sometimes. I stood up and tried to tackle him. My body took over my mind, I didn't know what I was doing. "Peter! George!" It was mother.
I felt an arm pushed in between us. It was too strong to be mother's; and too weak to be Jack or Michael. Mr. Barrie...
I'm not too familiar with him yet, considering I rarely even make eye contact with him. He can try and get me to "play pirates" all he wants, but it won't work. Its not like me to back up and drop something easily, but with him around, I thought it was the best thing to do. Mother has been through so much already, I shouldn't put get her into my problems too.
I met eyes with mother, who looked disappointed, but I could tell she was trying to hide it. It was all in her eyes, including the fact that she was holding back tears.
