I've never seen two people bond so rapidly. As the days went by, we started to see Mr. Barrie as much as we could, and I noticed them sharing that look more and more. I enjoyed watching their romance progress. But then things went down hill, again.
Mother was in bed more often, and we saw less and less of Mr. Barrie. One day, my brothers and I were in our room when I had an idea.
"The four of us need to sneak out."
"Are you kidding me Peter?"
"No, George, I'm not."
"I agree. We should sneak out."
"Thank you, Jack."
"Okay fine," George said, caving in.
"HOORAY" the three of us exclaimed.
We all huddled up and made a plan to sneak into a play rehearsal tomorrow, dressed as adults of course, because who would let a couple of kids in?
We gathered our things, and didn't bring it up again until right before bed. Mother had just said goodnight to us. We all waited till she left the room.
"Everyone know the plan for tomorrow?" George asked.
"You bet," I replied, and fell asleep.
