Amidst the turmoil,
And his muddled thoughts,
A light glows dimmer,

A quivering youth shivers
A brittle boardwalk trembles
Fearful of the sin the
person atop it's girth might
commit

In a flash
light
memories and
that familiar
fake happiness
.

.

.

.

Oh yes . . .
that
poisonous fake happiness
becomes useless
meaningless
because that happiness
responsible for being
meaningful
proves itself
obsolete

He peers down into
the murky
oblivion
below
feeling the shrill to the unknown
feeling the biting winds of the
protesters

He smiles, a dreamy
smile
the first real smile
he shall ever show
the last real smile
they shall ever know

And he let himself fall
He let himself
delve into the unknown
where it was just as risky
as staying in the known

But at least when
he is wronged
he will feel no surprise

At least when he is wronged
he will lose
no faith in humanity

He was not the one to
abandon it,
but they.

This was the meaning of being human.

This is the meaning of being human.

It was his choice
As a human
to jump,
to cry,
to love,
to 'sin'
to be him

It was his  choice as a human.

Because that's all it ever was.
And that's all it ever will be.
