Prologue
I was such an idiot to fall for his game. The plan hadn’t gone as smoothly as I thought it would, and for that I’m paying the price for the mistake I made. I should’ve listened to the others, should’ve just kept my mouth shut, I shouldn’t have gotten my best friend involved, but more importantly, I should’ve stayed away from the one person in the world that I now love.
Right now, I don’t think I’ll be able to tell him how I really feel.
I just knew that was going to die.
I tried to struggle against the duct tape that has bound my wrists and ankles, desperate to get free, but it’s useless. I realize it as the madman released the trapped door, and I fall into the water.
I could feel the water enter my lungs as I broke through the icy cold surface. I tried to struggle again, but I couldn’t feel my limbs though they were moving. I could feel icy pins against my skin, and I could also feel it in my lungs. And there was no doubt that it was stinging my entire body with its cold embrace.
I didn’t know how long I’ve been down there, but I swore I saw a bright light.
