Chapter 3

Vanessa screams.

Gabriel: Hey are you okay?

Vanessa: I'm fine. I have to call someone for awhile. Would you excuse me?

Gabriel: Yeah its fine.

Vanessa went behind a wall and calls Veronica.

Veronica: Hello? Vanessa?

Vanessa: Hey! So uh where are you? Right now?

Veronica: Hey! I'm at .... oh Hipster Cafe.

Vanessa peeks outside to see the sign that said Hipster Cafe.

Vanessa: Well get home now! I need you?

Veronica: What?

Vanessa: I .... I mean mom! She needs you!

Veronica: Why? What happend?

Vanessa: Um the stove! She was cooking and the stove is on fire!

Veronica: Oh my god! I'm on my way! Call ends. Sorry Alissa I have to go. My mom burned the stove? Idk . I have to go.

Alissa: Okay ......

Veronica rushes home . Vanessa went back to Gabriel to countinue the "date".

Vanessa: Sorry that took awhile.

Gabriel: Its fine.

Vanessa & Gabriel ate and went back home. While they were eating, back at home.

Veronica: Mom! Mom! Are you okay?!

Mother Merrell: I'm fine, dear. What's wrong?

Veronica: Where's the fire? Your ... stov .....fire ...... mmm ...... mo ..... mom?

Mother Merrell: What fire? Veronica are you okay?

Veronica: I'm fine but Vanessa told me that the stove was on fire. Where's Vanessa anyways?

Mother Merrell: Vanessa went out darling and theres no fire. Why would the stove be on fire?

Veronica: Well she told me that you were cooking and fire. Wait. She went out.

Veronica said with a clear voice and decided to call Vanessa.

In Vanessa's mind

Oh no! She's calling me! Should I answer? Maybe not .... but if I don't she'll be suspicious. What should I do?!

While Vanessa was thinking, Gabriel was drinking water while that he looks at Vanessa weirdly because Vanessa's thinking face is weird.

Gabriel: Um aren't you gonna answer that?

In Vanessa's mind again

Oh shoot! I have to answer it.

Vanessa: Yeah I'm gonna.

Vanessa said and smiled. Answering call.

Vanessa: Hey sis! Whatcha doing?

Veronica: I could ask you the same question.

Vanessa: Um I'm at ......

Vanessa was full of stress and didn't know what to say. If she told she was with Gabriel, Veronica could be mad. Besides, she couldn't lie Gabriel was infront of her.

Vanessa: I'm at a cafe?

Veronica: And what cafe is that?

Vanessa: Hipster Cafe?

Veronica: Who are you there with?

Vanessa: Amanda?

Veronica: Nessa I was at Hipster Cafe just now with Alissa and I didn't see you with Amanda. You think I didn't see you just now with Gabriel?

Vanessa: You know.

Veronica: I know everything Nessa. Bye.

Vanessa: Wait ,Roni!

Call ends.

Vanessa rushes to go home and said sorry to Gabriel she had to go. Vanessa arrived at home and went to Roni's room. Opens the door.

Vanessa: Veronica? Hello?

There was a note.

Dear Vanessa,

You should have told me. I'm your sister you're suppose to tell me everything although it breaks my heart. Thats what best friends do. I trusted you . I'll be at Alissa's for a few days. I need a real best friend right now.

Vanessa felt bad and called Roni alot of times but receives voicemail. While calling she finds old pictures of Veronica and her. She fears Veronica and Vanessa (her) will never be best buds before.
