A/N There is swearing near the end of this chapter, no like no read
The end of the holidays came to a close, and the four friends were now hoping that they would at least have some classes all together. Amber was super excited to see her best friend and couldn't wait to tell him everything that they'd been up to.
The day came, and Amber was currently wearing the most uncomfortable outfit ever. The socks were scratchy, the blazer was tight and rigid and everything in between. The only good thing about her uniform was that her shoes were very comfy and that her shirt was tailor made so that it wouldn't be as uncomfortable. (Amber didn't have a weird build, but all shirts that she saw in stores never have her a very good fit.)
And they were off, they had to walk to school, something that Amber wasn't very used to die to the fact that she lived in school. They were walking and before they knew it they were in school. Amber was never the super-popular one, so nobody batted an eyelid when the three (Nick was with dad) friends entered the school gates. What they did pay attention to, was the boy that entered right after them. His hair was upswept and he had a cool aura around him, he had a small scar on the lip from when Amber threw a stapler at him (it was weird) and he had his bag slouched over one shoulder. He was Luke. Amber turned around, and before she could open her mouth to yell his name, he yelled "Amber." All heads turned towards the black-haired girl, making her feel slightly uncomfortable. Before she knew what she was doing, she gave her backpack to Ashley and took off running towards him, "Luke." She said quietly, she knew that this was coming, but wow had he matured. He looked more at ease, yet his eyes showed an emotion that only Amber could decipher. Pain. Pain, because Luke had grown up way too quickly, he was very popular, but that also led him to do things that he wouldn't usually do, he got drunk, he got wasted, he cut himself. And all through that, Amber was always by his side, but his eyes told the truth, and the truth, even if his eyes weren't, wasn't very pretty. She jumped up to hug him, as he was way taller than her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, never wanting to let go. Eventually, they did, and the first thing that Luke said, was something that was very unlike Luke. "Soooo. Where's the boyfriend," he said loudly. Amber blushed crimson, putting her head in her arms.
"There is none." Amber told Luke, not nearly as loudly as her best friend.
"Okay then whose the soon to be boyfriend."
"There isn't one of those either." Amber whispered menacingly, grabbing Luke by the wrist and dragging him away.Amber POV
Once we were in a secluded spot, I flipped. "What the hell was that for?" I asked him, partly wanting to know, partly just because ugh.
"Well, you said that a boy was cute, and I would've thought you got him by now." What was he saying, he knew that Amber was never very adventurous, why would she have done this?
"That is so no true Luke, name one person at Princelone that would've wanted to date me.
"Me," Luke whispered, hardly audibly.
"What!" I replied, Luke was Luke my brother, I couldn't possibly kiss him.
Or maybe you could. My subconsciousness replied.
Ha, nope. I said to it.
Oh yes you could, look at him, those perfect lips, that awesome hair, what's not to like.
"The fact that this is probably all a dare and that Luke pr baby doesn't even like me."
"You said that aloud," a voice replied to me, Luke. "Why wouldn't I like you, you're perfect, you have hair just like hers, daring just like hers, and a mind just like hers."
"Just like whose?" I asked him. This was officially freaking me out, Luke wasn't like this.
"Like her, Thalia, I think her name was, she was perfect, just like you." He said, before blacking out.He was being taken to hospital, of course, I should probably be worried sick, but I wasn't. I couldn't stop thinking about who she was, and why she was so important. It just didn't make sense. "Miss Kuhl, mind answering my question." The dragon lady asked.
"42.957," I replied mindlessly.
This didn't make sense, none of it. Luke fainting, me suddenly being able to answer every maths question easily with not so much as a thought put into it. None of it makes sense. I repeat in my mind.
None of it makes sense.
None.
Of.
It.
Makes.
Sense.
My vision started going black at the edges, I couldn't see, couldn't breathe, two faintings in one day. I thought. I blacked out.
Blackness
Black
Nothing
EmptyI woke up in a hospital room, with an all too similar blonde in the bed next to me.
Shit
