We were back on the road. The girls were eating excitedly, I wouldn't blame them...
"So Camila, are you content with your bananas?" I asked still driving.
"Yes! Thanks..." She said with a quite delighted.
I smirked. It was getting quite dark and the girls looked distraught.
And the highway was still far away.
"Hey, I think we might have to catch up tomorrow." They all nod.

I kept driving for a few minutes till I saw a decent looking clothes store nearby.

I park the car beside the store. "Alright we're here folks." I glance at the mirror and see that Camila has fallen asleep already. I get out of the car and open her side, then carry her into the store. The place had three sofas, enough for them to rest for a bit. I place her on one of the couches, grabbed a few scarves that were big enough to cover her. I grab a few clothes and piled them up, so that her ankle could heal.
I step back and admire her, she looked so peaceful even though she's gone through all of that. I step back and put down my belongings beside her.

"She's so calm..." Lauren said.

I smile. "You two should get some rest too, you'll need it." I told them.

"What about you? Where are you going to sleep?"
Dinah asked while sitting on the couch.

"Hey it's fine, I'm gonna stay on look out." I tell them while grabbing my crossbow.

"You sure? I mean these couches are quite big, so if you want..." Lauren said shyly.

"Yeah, thanks Lau." I tell her and sit near a counter.

She smiled at me and laid down.
I look out through the window. The streets looked quite empty, I check my watch. It was 12:30. I wasn't able to fall asleep.
I let out a sigh, and look at the stars; damn...I remember how I used to gaze stars with Madison. I look at the ring that we promised each other, we were planning on getting married, have a family, a normal life; I'll try to make it possible.

Time started passing by fast, and the streets seemed desolate, not one thing was moving.

"Y/n?" I hear Lauren speak up, I check the time and it was already 2:00am.

"Lauren, what are you doing up?" I say still on the ground.

"I couldn't sleep..." She said while standing up and sitting next to me.

"I wanted to thank you again..." She said looking straight into my eyes, I never realized they were this green, the moonlight made them sparkle.

"Are you alright?" I heard her say.

"What? Oh, yeah. It's all good." I said looking away.

"You zoned out for a sec, where'd you go?" She asked.

"Nonthing, and you ladies should stop thanking me so much..." I said laughing.

Lauren laughed too. "I'm sorry...I'm just really thankful." She said looking at the moon.

"I can tell Laur." I tell her with a grin.

"The view here is amazing." She said still gazing up at the sky.

I observed her features, I haven't noticed she was gorgeous, actually all of them were, but she's the only one I actually got this close with for a long time.

"Yeah, it is. It's graceful." I tell her. She glanced back at me, our faces inches a part.

Out of nowhere I start hearing groans, they were pretty loud, Lauren grasped her hand onto my arm. I look over the window and see a pack of Roamers.

"Lauren, help me push this cabinet." She started helping me push it towards the door. It blocked it and I slide down onto the floor, holding my weapon, I perceived Lauren sobbing beside me. "Hey, shhhh...it's okay! Just, Lauren look at me, they will not get to us if we don't make any noise." I whisper, I open my right arm to make her rest onto me, she did and I held her close to me. The swarm of Walkers started passing by, I check the other girls on the couches, good thing that they're knocked out, if they started freaking out this store would've been demolished. It felt like hours, it wouldn't stop. After a little while the place was soothing again. I exhaled, and I glimpse a sleepy Lauren wrapped around me. I decide to drift off to sleep with her.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I wake up to the sound of my watch ringing. It was 6am and the sun was coming out. I rubbed my face.
I tap on Lauren's shoulder a bit and she woke up.

I stood up and walked towards the other two.

"What time is it?" She said stretching her arms.

"6am." I said and she looked at me surprised.

"Pretty early uh?" I ask.

"Yeah, it's also kind of cold..." She said approaching me.

I grabbed a varsity jacket with my initial on it and threw it at her.

"Cute." She said when she saw the initial. And I wink at her.
I gently shake Dinah's shoulder to wake her up.

"It takes a while to wake her up, I'll take care of her." Lauren said, so I go to the other sofa, where Camila was and sit down.

"Cam? Wake up we have to go." She groaned putting a pillow on her face. I smile and take the pillow off her face. "Do we have to?" She asked.

"Unless you want to stay here and hang out with hundreds of walkers." I tell her, and she started freaking out.

"Calm down sleeping beauty, you still have a broken ankle!" I told her while I stopped her from standing up.

"Fuck, so it was all real. I thought it was just a nightmare..." She said sadly.
I caress her cheek. "Well, I'm sorry, but it's real life..."

I get up and start pushing the cabinet that blocked off the door.

"Why is that there?" Dinah asked. Lauren glanced at me.

"Last night...there were many walkers, and they were roaming around the city." She said and they both started to get agitated.

I picked Camila up.
And there were a few Lurkers outside at the end of the road. Once everyone was seated I sped up towards one and opened my door and smashed it's head.

"Was that necessary?" Lauren asked.
