Inexplicable Attraction: 19

"time to go." i say to christian after our shifts. 

he nods and smiles "lets go" he says 

i nodd and we walk out together. "were to?" he asks me once we step outside. 

he waves goodbye to james who is leaving in his flashy car. i hold in my scowl, and questian as i turn to christian and say. 

"to the park." its about a block away from the coffee shop. and its only ten. 

we begin walking and i grab ahold of his arm, in a friendly way. 

"will you go out with Anna?" i say not bothering to beat around the bush. 

he stops walking and gives me a serious look. "why?" he asks me curiously. 

i smile. "she likes you, and you and i both know you feel the same way. but for some reason she thinks you like me, why is that?" i ask curiously. 

he sighs "about a month ago she started asking me who i like, she kept saying that she was my friend and how it was mean that i didnt trust her with my secrete. i had no idea what to say, i didnt want to tell her i liked her because she seemed out of my league." that hurt, hes saying im in his league and sjes not. i didnt know what to feel about that. "and i accidentaly blurted out that it was you." 

he looked at the ground defeated. 

"its ok" i said patting his back."we can fix this. ill set you guys up." i said smiling. 

he smiled back shyly. "thanks, and im sorry." 

"for what?" 

"nevermind." he said "you got what you wanted, to make james jelous." i stopped mid step and looked at him like he was crazy. 

he chuckled "its completely obvious that you guys love eachother, its still a mystery as to why you guys arent together though." he said thinking. 

i sat down on a park bench. "i dont love him." i said "im infatuated, but these feelings arent love." 

he smiled and looked at me "ive seen the way you look at him." he said sitting next to me and looking up at the beautiful stars in the sky "that is defenitely love."  

i looked up as well, we stayed like that quiet for a long time until he began speaking again. "but the question is, what are you going to do about it?" 

i sighed and answered truthfully "i dont know."

"thank you. thank you. thank you.!" Anna said jumping up and down. 

i chuckled at her happy expression. "last night was amazing." she said talking about her date with christian the previous night. 

i smiled at her. "im glad" 

she stopped jumping around and gave me a sad expression. "im sorry. i shouldnt be bragging about my date when your miserable and dateless." she said. 

i scowled. "anna" i am perfectly fine. stop assuming i am unhappy without james in my life." 

"but you are. i can see it in your eyes." she said in a quiet tone. 

i growled "stop assuming. i have to go to class." i said putting on a fake smile. 

she waved at me as i walked away, 

i was now even more confused than before, thanks to her. 

am i that transparent.
